I spent an hour on this same issue earlier this afternoon. I started with vise grips to fold or bend the pinch welds as straight as possible. This aligned the fenders almost where they're supposed to go. I then started lightly hammering what I could to straighten the welds further. Tomorrow I'm going to get a block of wood and the hammer and try and get everything perfect.
