not bad, the little figures are a bit much, especially since they are gonna be covered up by the needle.. the flaming chevy logo looks good.. are they gonna be overlays? if so what materials are you using?

itll look good if you decide on ONE little figure and maintain that throughout. withh all those different logos it looks cluttered.

I think it looks cool. But as purplez said, you should probably stick with one figure. Good idea though. HINT: You should make a set for firebirds.

Im thinking of something like this, but my final result will be totally different im sure. This is just a rough draft of what potential these gauges have. If printed on good paper with a good printer then these will be nice.
Remember, what I made is TOTALLY rough draft. I dont have the time at the moment to put a decent amount of work into these.
Ill end up changing most of the colors but this is what ive done so far with it.
Also, care to explain how you made the originals? I have a 145mph spedo so this wouldnt even work for my car in its current state.

um, corvette? and yea they look okay, all those little things look dumb though. just put something simple on the tach and speedo.

stick with one color for the face, and one for the numbers and figures. itll look less cluttered. and less rainbow too.

Reason I like the "rainbow" is because it will generally let you know by color how fast you are going. When you normally look for something you are missing you generally look for its color first amongst everything else. It will catch your eye easier and make it so you can keep your eyes on the road more. But of course, I never follow logic and I love rainbows.
I will end up toning all the colors down making them more dull and not so "hey, im bright and annoying"
I understand its all constructive critisism but I dont know if you understood why I made the colors the way I did. Hopefully you do now.

no im not trying to just knock down your designs. im more of a minimulist(sp?) myself. i use the "less is more" phrase in design and ideas alot...... except when it comes to power

Me too, when it comes to certain things that is. Like my computer, minimalist like crazy. Im more of a function over form kinda person when it comes to some things though. I work too damn much to even attempt to put the kind of time I would want to into these gauges, plus I own a 145mph spedo. If anyone has requests for these, pm me and ill see what I can do.

there is a guy that took a crack at making these awhile back, if you do a search youll find his pictures, they look REALLY good. i bet if you talk to him hell let you use his design. he used a 145 speedo, but he extended it to a 155 speedo. it might just give you some cool ideas too. ill see if i can find it...

Flames?
Lets see it installed. It looks pretty good so far. Im going to change mine out soon so just want to know if the white ones can be altered and still look clean. I had white gauges with flames in my fourth gen z28 but they dont make them for thirds.
