4thgen interior in 3rdgen ?

i have an 85 T/A and a 95 T/A for parts i think all the panels will work. Has anyone swapped all the panels? Also how hard is it to put the dash in and would the original 3rdgen console look right? The 4thgen interior is a ebony color the 3rdgen console matches the seats perfectly. Im not using the 4thgen console becuase the lid is shot and its missing the trim that holds the shifter boot.

there will be a little gap in between the console and the dash, but its pretty straight forward, i put a 2000 camaro interior in my 86 t/a

Everything will fit but every part will need minor modding. The rear sail panels are the hardest. You will need to do some cutting and a little heating with a heat gun to get them to fit. You will still have to use so trime pieces from the 3rd gen to make it look good. You will also have to fill the area where the hatch shocks are located on the 4th gen sail panels with something. I used black head liner material on mine. And on the rear pieces you have to cut the 3rd gen pieces for some filler where the hatch lide fits. This may sound like it would look bad or look like it doesn't belong, but it looks good and no one but you will know.

PS
The kick panels also work, you will have to use the 4th gen weather stripping to make it fit and just cut it off in the right spot and you can hide the cut under some molding and then you have double the weather stripping and the door will still close and it sound a lot more solid.

i dont have time to read all of that on your post but i think the dash idea is out i have a good dash and pad anyway. sounds like all the panels will fit easy like i thought. I just wanted to know ahead of time if there was issues.

you painted the dash and the pad or did you use the 4thgen dash? did you use the 4thgen door panels? I have to swap doors due to damage but i have a 89 parts car as well and the car set for years. the doors are perfect and the panels are perfect like new but they are the grey the vynl part will look fine but the light grey part may look wierd or good.
