hidden treasure
Well boy’s I found me some hidden treasure… in an old abandon Camaro, I found sitting at a farm house. Went up to the guys door and asked if he was interested in selling parts off of it and he said sure. Saw his dash pad was in pretty good shape and offered the guy $20 for it and he said $35 I said 30 and then he said fine, but its worth less…it’s been out there for two years with out t-tops on the car I bet its junk by now, and oh u have to take it out your self. So I did and this is what I ended up with….think I got one hell of a deal…

This is how I cleaned it:
I took some warm water and a towel and wiped every thing down. Mad sure the water wasn’t to hot or anything, dint wont it to crack due to drastic temperature change. Then I took some wizards black renew and wiped that on, to take out all of the discoloration and fading. After that I took it a step farther and add some none scented baby oil, to give it the shine that I wanted. The baby oil also helps in keeping the plastic moist, preventing cracking….
All I know is that I’m happy and the farmer is happy because I gave him more beer money…lol

just a little tip i wanted to throw out to everyone. when i cleaned the couple dashboards i found, i used a soft bristle pastry brush to get the loose dirt out from the speaker vents and it seems to work very well.

Nice find!! I am still looking for a better dash pad. My original one that was in my car was cracked to hell, so went to the junkyard and found a okay one that has 3 small cracks and some glue stuff in the middle that wont come off I paid $11 for it.

thanks for the cleaning tip.
black renew, and baby oil... I was wondering what to use to keep that material soft and supple, Armor all is not supposed to be the best, but I don't hear a lot of consensus on alternatives.

Yes that’s mold on the seats. I actually found a small tree growing out of the back seat, wonder if I took it and planted it my back yard if it would grow camaros…hmmm…lol…anyway the guy had it sitting outside for 2 years with out any t-tops on the car and with the windows down…. Idk wut the deal was would have taken 5 minutes to cover the thing up with a tarp. Wish I had the money and I would go buy it from him… I dint mention early that he also has an Iroc-z, that in fairly good condition, that has a non running 350 tpi in it… I asked him if he would sell them both and he said yes, 4 1500 bucks lol…maybe when I get 400 bucks ill go back and ask if he would wanna sell them again… there defiantly not worth 1500 buck tho ill tell u that much
