j/k I don't think he needs that much carbon fiber.

Check out these guys: http://www.uscomposites.com/ You can do some smaller scale stuff for not tooo much money.

To build panels you want plain fabric and I read that Epoxy resin is the way to go in lieu of polyester which is normally used with Fiberglass. I'm not sure what weight fabric you'd want for interior panels... never worked with the stuff myself.

Buy some while you can because..

prices are goin thru the roof and supply is hard to get because

1.govenrment is buyin the stuff up for F22 fighter jets
2.Airbus and boeing for the A380 and the 787

Do you want the LOOK of carbon? or do you just want Real Carbon to say you have it?

If its for strength use S2 fiberglass.

The only functional use for CF is it's incredible rigidity and thus very light weight parts. If you just want the cosmetic look, you could buid parts out of Fiberglass and then just use a sheet of CF on the outer layer... that's how all the r!cer hoods are made.

The only way CF is lighter is if its layed up right and put in a autoclave to bake it. This give its strength and also squeezes all the excess resin outa the parts.

As you said if hes just fater the look just use Glass and get the sticky back CF look sheets.

I meant that the stiffness allows for less layers to be used and that gets you a lower finished weight.

When you look at the specific gravity of FG vs CF it's like 2.8 g/cc vs 1.8 g/cc. So the density of CF is more than half that of FG whereas CF is about 4x as stiff as FG, so the extreme weight difference comes mostly from the added stiffness of CF.

yep... this is a pain and also why it's so expensive if you go to have it done and as far as the rolls.. you don't get that much. it's really pricey. looks cool though.
