Got the 98 Gauges working, Almost....
I just need to get the dakota digital tach integrator, and put some 3.73's in it, My speedo is set for 3.73's, I am running 2.73's so its way off. I ended up using a 3rd gen gauge and soldering "jumper" wires on the back of the circuit board to send the actual gauge its 12v, ground and resistance wire. So I knew it was getting the actual signal, not a signal going through resistors and such. The only problem is that the back light on the odo only comes on when I turn on the lights. But Im not too worried about it right now.

If anyone has questions about the 98 cluster let me know, and I will try and help.

Its easy as pie man! If you are up to the task. You take the front/rear cover off the cluster. Remove the gas gauge needle. Now you must remove the round assembly that controls the gauge. Pretty easy and straight forward just by looking I do have some pics but will have to dig them up. Now you will need a older fuel gauge assembly. Rule of thumb if it threads in it dont need a computer signal to run it. You cannot use a thirdgen gas gauge because it does not rotate the right way. A 2nd gen t/a gauge will work but is a bit larger and will need a touch of trimming. Bascily an GM gauge from a older car that dosen't require that pesky signal from the ECM, the gauge you find must defelect from left to right. I can go into further detail but don't have time at the moment. But its about an hour from start to finish and straight forward once you get all the parts.
