Passenger and Driver Seats!!
As we all know, the drivers seat clearly takes more abuse. Here is my question. Is it possible to take the bottom foam and fabric off the passenger side and replace it on the drivers side? I know all the reclining mechanisms would have to be moved? but has this been done? pictures/advice? anything! Thanks guys!

I know the seat skin (fabric) is the same part if you order them, the foam im not sure of but i do believe it is.

Yes you can interchange it. My drivers seat was heavely worn and I found a passenger side that was perfect, took it to an upholstery shop, and they changed out the basket and the foam and the fabric and I had a perfect drivers seat.

Re: Passenger and Driver Seats!!
so then either way its not a matter of swapping an entire passenger side lower to a driver side upper
Re: Passenger and Driver Seats!!
I swapped cloth covers
The top is held on by a zipper at the bottom and a few hooks if I remember right
Sew up the 1/2" slit from the tilt and make another 1/2" slit on the other side
Its really simple

I assume the "basket" of the seat would be where your bottom would be while sitting in the car.
Food for thought:
Cut the back out of the foam pads in the seats while they're uncovered and insert a set of the portable heated/massage seats you can find at most wal-marts for about $25. Most already run on 12+ DC. Just the heat alone is worth it IMO.

hmm, yeah, the car has never and will never see salt tho, so there is no need to have a heated seat! thanks tho.
so... will the tracks on the drivers seat bolt directly onto the bottom of the passanger seat bottom? if so, i assume i dont even need to get the covers swapped, i can just swap the bottoms correct?

Re: Passenger and Driver Seats!!
if all you are trying to do is repair a ripped seat cover/ worn out foam. there is really no need to even remove the seat from the vehicle. there are little j clips that hold the seat cover on a flat head screwdriver and you got the cover off, for the bottom.
like they said the back is zippered.
plus heated seats are just cool and they are worth it when it gets cold.

Not exactly, the controls will be on the wrong side then. The way the shop that I went to did it was they took the fabric off and then where the holes for the controls are they replaced it with the side from the original drivers seat fabric.
hope this makes sense.
