That's one of the best answers I have heard yet, this guy is genius Simple and to the point, and yes the seat tracks will bolt right up.

 

i had power seats in my 87 iroc and i got a set of 4th gen seats and i put the power track from the 3rd gen seats on the 4th gen seat and the 4th gen seat sits a little far to the left and it doesnt go back very far at all (im 5'10") but at the moment i'm not sure if i just installed the tracks backwards or not.

nmot to hijack your thread but im was thinking about getting fourth gen seats from my freind since he got racing seats but there powered seats.. and i have no idea if my car has the powered seat function under the carpent ( my car is a manual one and kinda want to keep it a manual one ) <---- or is that attatched to the track of the 3rd gen seats? if so please tell this would help me alot and sorry for hi jacking your thread

 

see i got mine of a 2001 ss camaro and they where power too and i had manual i just wire it iin since it was a two prong one and i didnt have to worry about all the other i still would check to see if you do have wiring under there to see but you never know and yea the tracks will swap over if you go with the manual route

There should only be two wires to connect for the power seat track(pos & neg).The other wires are for the seat track which has a dedicated harness the connects to the switch.The two (pos/neg) wires for the seat track are intergrated into the switch harness.There may or may not be a fuse on the pos wire.

As for the power lumbar switch.Dont know if it could take the current load from the power window motor.Regardless should'nt be too difficult.Take the connector for the lumbar switch.Indentify the wires for each switch.Disconnect the window switch from the harness.Take the wires from one lumbar switch(should be four (guessing).The switch runs a motor that pumps air for the lumbar supports.The motor runs in one direction to pump air & reverse to pull air out.Same way the window switch runs the power to lower/raise the window.Its a simple matter of matching polarities, but i could'nt tell you which wire does what.You'll have to trial & error it.

I did a similar thing with my power seat track for the switch, but i used a ford tauras power seat switch.It took me about 45 min or so to figure out which wire did what on the switch & the same for the camaro OEM seat harness, but eventually i got the tauras switch working just the camaros switch used to.

Reason for doing this.I have the power lumbar seats from a 97 T/A & the camaros original switch was too bulky for the T/A side covers.The tauras switch is a lower profile & i was able to mount it on the R/H side cover.The switch is snug between the seat & console.
