How To Replace Dash Vents

I have a 1987 IROC that the dash vent on the far passenger side has fallen apart. I purchased a new vent, but not sure as to how I install the new vent without breaking the vent or dash. Any help would be appreciated.

Check out this tech article, it shows how to remove/replace the vents: https://www.thirdgen.org/ventfix

Re: How To Replace Dash Vents

Thanks, that is exactly what I wanted. I did a search but didn't find that article. I was afraid that I would have to remove the dash to get the vents out. I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: How To Replace Dash Vents

I would not remove the vents that way, could harm the edges of the dash around them. What I did was use two angled picks and from inside the vent lift the retainer upwards to let it slide forward and out.
