fuel delivery

i am finishing up puting an lt1 from a 94 caprice into my 86 z28 and and was wondering what the best solution for putting lines and a fuel pump in. i am planning on buying a decent external electric pump which i was planning on mounting in the area where the filter goes. the problem i have is the lt1 came with the "plastic" lines and i am not sure what i am supposed to do about it, seeing as how the part where they come off the fuel rails has the attached plastic lines. i do have the whole line setup from the caprice so i suppose i could try and use that but i dont know how to splice the hardline from the tank into the plastic line.

There is an LTx swap subforum (along with LSx - sorry, co-mingled) that has the answers. Moving there now.

Also check out the sticky, in the top section of the Engine Swap and the subforum.

i used efi rubber hose to replace the plastic lines, and where it had to connect to the hard line i used 3/8" pipe thread hard line adapters that can be picked up at your local auto store. I'm pretty sure mine came from a transmission line fitting (lol). To go to the tank and fuel filter i used dorman replacement quick connect fittings. they sell them in 5/16" and 3/8" and were about 8 bucks each. I double g-clamped every line that involved rubber and connected up to the stock stuff no problem. No leaks, no empty wallet, no problems after a month of daily driving
