anyone run into this problem?
so i installed my t56 tonight behind my ls1 and the shifter doesnt align with the shifter hole. the shifter seems to be sitting an inch or two to far back. heres a pic. i need suggestions for a fix please, thanks.

Looks to me like the only fix would be, either cut the hole bigger, or move the engine/trans forward (custom motor mounts)

yeah thats what i was thinking to cut the hole bigger. Im using a spohn lsx swap k member so im not sure if that is causing it. its sux because now my shifter boot wont be big enough

Just cut it, thats what i did with my LT1 T56 behind my 305 car and it is what i and you will have to do with the LS1 swap.

Its well documented that the T56 shifter sits about an 1-2" back than the t5 shifter.

If you use the T56 lower boot, then you'll be fine.
Another trick is to place a piece of metal across the front, and then use that to mount the boot with some self tapping screws.
Don't worry, the shifter will still be placed right in the middle of the console, and no one will ever know
