Can I get a few thoughts on finishing my LS 1 swap wiring.

I have almost completed swapping all the LS 1 drivetrain into my 92 but still have a few loose wiring ends. I know the 98 PCM is not the most desireable but it is what I had to work with. I need to know what voltage to send to the exciter wire that activates the alternator since it is not controlled by the PCM and to which wire I need to connect the TCC brake wire to. All wiring, PCM, drivetrain, 4L60E etc. out of a 1998 Trans Am. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The alt gets about 9v. Hook it to any IGN source through a 470ohm resistor and it'll be right

Brake switch is C100 E7 for your 92

Thanks Pocket, will that E7 still work if I have removed the cruise control switch from the pedal assembly?

Doesnt appear to matter, but check for the PNK/BLK and PPL combo anyways

Off topic, but what part of St Louis are you from? My wife and I are in St Charles but are moving to O'Fallon next month after we close on our new house.

I'm in Fenton. Researching and doing this swap has been a challenge but looks like it will pay off in the end. With parting out my donor car I am around $1000 in cost so far. I relied mainly on info from TGO.

That's cool, hope to see it at the local spots next season.

Re: Can I get a few thoughts on finishing my LS 1 swap wiring.

Hey guys, sorry to revive this thread but I saw the brake switch wire as I am going through my third gen harness right now while I have some free time... if I am running a TH400 with no torque converter clutch/lock-up and a manual valvebody, is it safe to remove the brake switch from my wiring harness? I'm down to the last 10 or so wires from my whole old third gen harness and am hoping to finish this up in the next week or so. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, Jeremy.
