I loved looking through this thread. It's basically everything I'm planning on doing. I also LOVED finally seeing some Trac Pac torque arm pics because I plan on doing the same!
S&W also offers the same style torque arm that attaches to a crossmember between subframe connectors.

$333 total for the torque arm and crossmember. Of course you'll need SFC's to weld it to.
Tell me about your ground clearance. Any bottoming out? Is the car lowered at all?!

Ground clearance isn't too bad. So far Ive only bottomed out once, and that was when I first drove it. There was a dip in the road favoring the passenger side, and didn't think anything of it. Barely scraped the bottom of the xpipe. Put new stock springs in the rear and haven't had a problem since. Sportlines in the rear where to low for my taste anyway. Still running Sportlines in the front though. If I had to redo anything, I'd tuck up the exhaust better.

I have a 3" Strange steel drive shaft. What do you think the torque arm clearance would be like?

Im stoked, Kyle and TMS have been great so far.
Im stuck on what cam to run. Was impressed with the previous AI cam, but felt it was a tad to small. Looking at:
BTR's stg III: 231/242 .617"/.588" 112+2
Tick Custom: 227/237 .614"/.610" 111+3
or suggestions?

I dont know how...but Ive missed this entire build.
Im really impressed! You do some great work! Im digging your exhaust. True duals is something Ide like to switch to at some point. There was a fella over on tech that did a really nice true dual set up, complete with cut outs...and I was going to try to model my set up after his. But it looks like a lot of work haha.
Stinks about the motor. What happened..any idea?
Oh man so many things I wanted to comment on haha. Too bad I missed em all. Good luck with the new motor! Looking forward to hearing how you like that TMS build. Tick's cam's seem to do well. But, Im a BTR fan. His spring kit and PR's are awesome, his prices are good, and he's a darn nice guy to talk to. Can say the same thing for Tick though...so thats a tough choice

Was making a wot pull and lost oil pressure. Come to find out it was drinking oil. When i pulled the intake there were puddles of oil on top of the intake valves. Had been running it hard all day and prolly just burnt up too much oil. My fault, but that wont be happening again.
Tick seems to be the hot sellers at the moment but I went with the BTR stg III.

I dont think you'll be disappointed with the BTR. That guy seems to have his stuff together and makes quality parts. I kind of wish I went to him for more of my parts now. Cant wait to see how the new set up runs for ya!
I had lots of blowby on my LS1. Puddles of oil in the intake, etc. I had a catch can installed, and it didnt seem to catch much. So I dont think I was using THAT much. But I havent pulled my intake tubing off to check on the new motor haha. Im kind of scared. If I see oil, that means my ring job isnt sealing any better than the last motor. We'll see.
Bummer she popped but on to bigger things for ya!

Fuel Lines:
3rd gen hardline used from the engine bay to tee fitting. Tee fitting rearward is 4th gen lines, and custom nylon braided line.
Stock 3rd gen hardline, connects to tee fitting. From there the ls1’s return line, and fuel filter/feed line. A short line was needed to connect the plastic feed line coming off the tank, to where the fuel filter is located.

the 98 pump has 4 lines coming out. im guessing 1 feed, 2 vent, 3 return and 4 purge? can i vent the purge line and do the 't' setup like yours as the return??

Sorry man its been so long since Ive read/visited the forums. The plastic tanks fuel filler neck needs to be trimmed so I don't even know if the metal 98 tanks would fit???
