Ls1 throttle cable

What cable are you guys using? Cheaper the better. My TPI cable is a big fat no, my carb setups live a TBI cable all day.

Re: Ls1 throttle cable

I'm using a non-traction control cable from a 99 Camaro. It had to make a custom grommet for the firewall and modify the pedal end to mate to my stock pedal.

Re: Ls1 throttle cable

Any pics? I was hoping I could use a stocker, I think I could use a LT1 cable? Think the last time I used a TBI cable in a LT1 car, it mated to the has petal like stock when I used a carb.

Re: Ls1 throttle cable

I used the same cable for my swap

its a tad long though, so I tied a not at the pedal end to take up the slack rather than bending the pedal

Ditto to the above. 99 cable. Had to bend the pedal arm back a tad to reach WOT. 5 minute job.

Re: Ls1 throttle cable

Well, seems I can make a bracket that will take the slack up then.

Re: Ls1 throttle cable

Tie a knot in the cable? Bend the pedal?

I cut the pedal end of my 99 cable to match the stock cable, then crimped and brazed on a new end that fit the stock pedal.

Re: Ls1 throttle cable

I put zipties on the cable to take the slack up vs bending the pedal arm. Took 5 mins
