Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but Amy Poehler's boyfriend in "Baby Mama" drives a red 82-84 Z28 hardtop with faded paint. Interesting thing is it has the third brake light in the spoiler.

Do you have another angle? Third brake light is a dead giveaway for a 87-90 car. Is it possible its an 87 Z28? I think 87 is the last year of the plain Z28s, but I cant remember if they got grid tail lights or not.

Whats cool is that that is Dax Shepard. Dax Shepard is a big time car guy, so there's a small likelihood he may own that car.

The new movie out called Hit and Run is basically a new school comedy version of Smokey and the Bandit, and it got bad reviews but I think a lot of the reviewers didnt catch all the gearhead humor in it that a lot of us would notice. I thought it was a really good movie. Easy 7/10 for me. Most of the cool cars in that movie belong to him. But there were no red Camaros...

wait for the sequel there may be, what i figured was that the spoilers been swapped, as the hatch is misaligned at that side rather then the factory mis aligning of the passenger side it would have had, maybe the hatch has been swapped?

87-90 3rd brake light, 90-92 door moldings, tail lights were used on alot of the 89 and 90 rs's. and 88 sportcoupes and rs's. but the ground effect looks gold in this pic, so that would depict either an 88 sport coupe, or 87 z28. but an 88 sport coupe would have the differant wing. and the 87 z28 should have differant tail lights....ugh!! so at least one thing is swapped on this car.

Like, a million episodes of mythbusters but it always gets beat to hell

In "The Hard Times of RJ Berger" on MTV RJ's cousin drives a pristine 87-90 IROC convertible with a black on red Heritage Edition paint job.

In "Breaking Bad", the main character Walter's son asks for a fox body stang or an IROC for his 16th birthday (it's only mentioned but still, the kid has his priorities straight).

They didnt have those door moldings in 87-89? It's got gfx so it cant be a sport coupe or a berly. So it's gotta be an RS or a Z28.

But yeah, it's obviously had different things put on it since not everything matches. There's no telling.

88 sport coupes did have ground effects. thats when the sport coupe died, and rs rebirthed for the first time in the 3rdgens. so 88 sport coupes and rs looked the same exect sport coupes had two tone paint(ground effects diff color). rs was solid color like an iroc was. berlinetta died in 87. and those door "may" have come on slightly earlier years,,actually just searched around and i found some pretty factory looking 87's with those moldings. but the oldest one of my cars that has those is my 90. my 85,86,87,89 all have differant moldings. so i guess it was "optioned" up to 90 where it became the only one you could get.

I watched the movie on FX a few days ago and that's what gave me the notion to post here. They showed a farther angle in the movie and it had 82-84 GFX. I got that pic from IMCDB. It's supposed to be a P.O.S. owned by a sleaze so I imagine that they mixed and matched lol.

Spiderman 2 i think is the movie their was a camaro on the streets behind the dump truck when the sand guy desolved in the sand in the dump truck. Also the movie "black dog" the blue iroc was a main car throughout the whole movie. Supper troopers, Farva drove a blue iroc after the guys got fired and were joy ridding around town drunk, and in thd tv show heroes, Clair drove her boyfriends camaro straight into a wall killing him at 120mph...she walked away of course because she could self heal. Also in the video game "driver" they have an iroc and grand theft auto their is a generic camaro/ firebird. And also in the game Forza 3 and Forza 4 you can buy a 1990 camaro or trans am. Top gear also featured an iroc a few times but for laughs.

In Driver: San Franciso it's a 1986 IROC-Z and it's pretty well modeled. Grand Theft Auto IV also has an interesting mix of an IROC and a GTA ).

Yeah they actually did a decent job with it. Not great, but decent for sure. Looked killer for sure.

The thing was allegedly stolen and trashed and then recovered and she wanted it fixed up.

the one thing i couldnt understand was the border striping has 3 small lines instead of the 2. and they look too small and close together to be what the z28 had. or i just am not aware of the options you could pick from lol.

Also the IROC declas are not placed correctly. They are too far forward on the door. Far from perfect.

There was a gray third gen camaro in one of the fast and furious movies. Brian breaks into the police impound lot and takes a ford focus or some rice car and there's a third gen sitting next to it.

I possibly saw one of the IROC's used in the movie "Blackdog" a few years ago @ a tow yard that also buy/sell cars in the Upstate of SC. It had a roll cage and mount for a camera inside the vehicle... Blue in color so it was probably legit... I took some pix on my cell and have them somewhere.

I saw a red one in the beginning of The Gremlins and in Hocus Pocus when they are coming out of the sewer right after the graveyard scene while the zombie dude is chasing them. The camaro is a bluish color. Can't miss either one.
