"OutLaw" build (slow build) thread W/PICS
Ok first of, let me start out with a little bit of back story. Last year I bought my first Glock 17 9MM pistol. It was to Big for me to conceal carry, so I traded it for a dune buggy with Camaro seats. I had That for about 4 months when I started a new job. So I put it on craigs list and a few days later a younger kid called me up and asked if i would trade for a car.... after a few texts and an email full of pic, away i was with my New to me 1991 Camaro RS 3.1 speed.
when she came home.
^^ anyone have any guess as to where these rims came from?
so far, I have done (what i feel is a bit of work)
~redone headliner
~replaced passanger door inside handle
~new shocks and struts
~front brakes (rear are still in the box, but i do have them)
~tracked down a yellow front ground effect from an 84ish Z28
~fixed rear hatch gear, lucky for me the switch is not broken
~hatch struts (in the mail)
~ fixed the main dounut exhaust gasket that was missing
~front right side marker light
~third brake light
~ repaired the blinker switch (all the parts where in a bucket in the back, and i had to figure out how they went back together.
~ VATS work around... (basically my steering collem is F'ed and I dont have the vats key switch any more... well i have one, its wired to the under side of my dash. I found it when i was trying to fix the blinkers. I cut it out thinking how dumb it was... then my car wouldnt start so i spent another 30 figuring where in the hell it was so that i could put it back
~fixed blinkers
It is defenatly a work in progress and for my first camaro I couldnt be happier.

ok, well after i got home from work... i decided to finish tearing into my hatch issues... and its a little daunting.
for starts when i pulled the switch there where no wires in the dash so i had to track'em down. long and boring story short i had to tare half my interior apart, new wire ran... and now everything works except the part where my hatch pops open... it has power, the motor moves up, switch clicks and starts the (closed) cycle. so i get to look forward to that.
front ground effect painted. (not a pro job) but looks way better than the yellow
more to come....

well, small update. Rear hatch struts installed, and motor working. I seemed to be missing a plate for the latch release, so that's on the way.

Nice trade-your like the barter king's LOL. IMO the car would look better with the correct 91/92 front lip. The wheel's are form and S10 and Astro and even some S10 balzers and Jimmy's had them, but only in 2wd. Good luck with the project and keep up the good work. BY the way you could ahve gone to Autozone and got the hatch struts for $60.00 for the pair.

thank you, I found some on eBay (new) $32 shipped. As far as the front ground effect, no salvage yards have anything so when I found that one for $30 I grabbed it.
