Re: '82 Camaro Sport Coupe LT1 T-56 Swap
Sorry for not updating in a long time. Long story short I am now in SC rather than MI for good now. I just bought a house and I will be bringing my car down very soon. I just need to finish rebuilding my trans.
However has anyone ever had any experience with the new GC kits?

Re: '82 Camaro Sport Coupe LT1 T-56 Swap
Thanks, I am not sure what exactly what I want to do. I do know I am going to be changing dampers soon and doing something so I can adjust my ride height.
I didn't realize how close I am to Hawks, I may stop by and see if I can look at the new UMI weight jacks.

Re: '82 Camaro Sport Coupe LT1 T-56 Swap
Sorry for the long delay in updating the car is still in PA, however that should be changing soon. I currently have a plan in motion to pick it up at the end of April, since my last post in Dec. of 2017. Getting older is much more than I could have ever anticipated. Anyways back to the car since my last post I picked up a set of ROH CP's for the car along with some Koni yellow's that were modified by True Choice out of Ohio so they are now double adjustable. The first thing before my road trip up to PA to get the car I will be rebuilding the T56 that I had in the car since it had at some point broken the reverse key retainer which allowed the reverse key snap ring and keys to come apart as you can see in the pics.
My current upgraded parts that I have ordered for the trans are as follows:
Billet Keys & Snap Rings: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6
Carbon Fiber Synchros: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, New Brass for Rev.
New Sliders, 1-2, 3-4, R
Bronze fork pads for all forks.
The bearings of the trans seemed fine when I inspected everything. I will post my progress as I rebuild the T56 over the next couple of weeks. The only hold up that I may have is getting my '85 C20 running and driving which is my tow vehicle fresh 383 and SM465 soon to be NV4500 ... which only needs to be rebuilt.

Re: '82 Camaro Sport Coupe LT1 T-56 Swap
Hi everyone,
A lot has happened since I last posted a few weeks ago. I firstly took a 1985 C20 pickup with a fresh engine on a 1,200 mile road trip from Greenville, SC with minimal trouble, I found out how terrible the bench seats in those trucks truely are compared to the new plush interiors that the new trucks come with. I was able to make good time up and back down from Pittsburgh. The car is finally with me which is great, I put the car together and got it running and driving. The car needs shook down after sitting for a few years.
As far as the transmission rebuild is concered it works great however I only had one nuance during assembly I had to file fit the shift fork pads for the 5/6 & Reverse forks since they were a little too thick and were binding on the slider. The car does shift really well now which is nice.
I also lowered the car back down in the front since I put on the ROH CP's that I have for the car. I will put the rears on when I get the 8.8 finished. Until then I will be running the mismatched wheels. I did pickup some Continental slicks from the challenge cup which I can't wait to try on the car when I can make it to the next autocross. I will not be running in any class other than the cookie class till I get the car shook down and the proper springs with weight jacks for the front and rear and some better shocks for the rear of the car.
True Choice Double Adjustable Koni's
I heard the 90's called asking me to bring the race outfit back.
ALL PACKED UP AND READY TO GO SOUTH!!!!
FLASH BACK TO THE 90'S!

Re: '82 Camaro Sport Coupe LT1 T-56 Swap
Early Stages of the Hiltsy Mount
Checking the 8.8 in the minus TQ Arm mount
I will be retrofitting this to the bolt on 2" harwood hood I have.
Finished 8.8 minus full strip & paint
TQ Arm Mount
Well first of all sorry for the delay in the response. I have been slowly working on the car. I have started on and hopefully going to finish getting the 8.8 installed. It is from a '97 Mustang 31 Spline Moser Axles 4.10's & a TracLoc from an Explorer. I have maybe $400 in the complete 8.8 including the $50 for a donor fbody rear for the brackets. It has been a slow process. trying to figure out how to get everything to fit. I used a Hiltsy Mount for the Explorer 8.8 and I modified everything to fit the Mustang 8.8 so I did not have to cut the axle tubes. I believe I gained 1/2" overall width from the 3rd gen rear to the SN95 rear (94-98 Mustang). I am also currently re-plumbing the front brake line and fuel line since I really do not like how I had it previously.
Stay tuned. I recently purchased some L92 (823 Casting) heads so this will be getting an LS swap if/when I scatter the LTx. If not the daily will get the LSx ('97 Formula/TA w/ full bolt on's).

Re: '82 Camaro Sport Coupe LT1 T-56 Swap
I figured it has been a long time since I have updated this. This is the car now, it now has UMI weight jacks, rod ends swedge tubes for the rear lower control arms and an aluminum hex bar with rod ends for the panhard bar. I also added a cowl hood which still needs painted and a 10" adjustable lexan rear spoiler.
