Do you have a photo of the lower portion of the radiator and how it fits near the DSE front steering brace? I'm nervous that I'll spend a bunch on a radiator and then find that it interferes with the front brace system. Another member in the LSx swap section has this problem.
Also, how did you connect the AN fitting to the upper water pump port? I am in the process of threading in an AN fitting (After pulling the pressed tube out) but your options seems simpler.

Ahh, very slick. Great info here. I appreciate the response. I pulled out the upper neck but never thought about pressing in another style fitting? I bought some of the threaded necks designed to go into the pump (from Aero Flow) but they are too small in diameter. I am going to try and run a 1-5/16" tap through there and use an AN universal fitting.
Edit: Saw you made a custom neck.

Oh, you guys changed your website.... and it sucks to use now. Please put the vehicle categories back in!
I can't find the damn steering brace.

Re: Detroit Speed 1987 Camaro Test Car 2.0
Hello DSE - How was the trans tunnel opening made for the T56?
I cut a 2" extension on my car the first time I installed a T56 but am building the car from the ground up, fresh and want to improve fit and finish. Your trans tunnel opening looks great and very tight to the trans.
I see Holley sells one of these for second gens. I was thinking of buying that and grafting it into my tunnel. Was yours one off custom piece?
Finally, did you use a rubber boot over that hole, or did you just install the interior right over that?
Back in my hack days, I am ashamed to say I used a piece of Dynamat Original cut to the size of the hole with a cross cut in the center and sheet metal screwed it down to the floor... happy those days are over.
Thanks for any advice/guidance you can provide.

Maybe I read passed it but what was done for the fuel system on this car? Specifically, what tank did you use since the early 3rd gen tanks weren't baffled. Are you running an OEM style set-up, 4th gen, or hybrid?

Its a stock 3rd gen replacement tank that they notched for exhaust clearance. Not sure on what fuel pump they used, but its a stock sending unit with the lines modified for the fuel tank access door in the hatch.

Re: Detroit Speed 1987 Camaro Test Car 2.0
Do they have any fuel starvation issues on the road course? I know these tanks don't have baffles, or the cup around the pickup for that matter, and when you are below half tank you get suction issues.

Right, that part I dont know. I know if you call and talk to them they will answer any of your questions. I thought some of the replacement tanks had baffles. I have a new summit one in the garage that I havent taken out of the box yet. But I'll take a look in it tonight and let you know if its baffled or not.

Re: Detroit Speed 1987 Camaro Test Car 2.0
We have yet to experience any fuel starvation issues on the road course with our set up. As it was mentioned previously, this is a factory 3rd gen tank that we notched for exhaust clearance. As far as fuel system goes, it is a Walbro 450lph pump and we made some stainless hard lines to run up to the regulator/rails.

Yes, it is a OEM replacement tank. The pump runs off of the Holley Dominator EFI. It triggers the relay from an ignition source and has a 5 second priming timer.

Almost forgot! We also updated the car with some Forgeline FF3C Concave Open Lug wheels. And before you ask...the Formula 43's are not for sale, lol.

Stock sending unit? Or did you guys use one of the new holley EFI sending units? Car looks great by the way. You've done the 3rd gen community a huge favor by making this car.

You wouldn't happen to have any pics of the top of the tank with the Holley set through your access hole?

Looking back at our photos, I stand corrected (It's been a while since I've seen the service cover off). Matt modified a factory sending unit with AN fittings. My fault.

Re: Detroit Speed 1987 Camaro Test Car 2.0
They are probably using the stock style vent valve that is near the tank. They aren't running a charcoal canister. Most people get rid of that when they do a swap.

Re: Detroit Speed 1987 Camaro Test Car 2.0
The valve vents the tank. The charcoal system doesn't. It merely condenses the fuel vapors in the motor and returns them to the tank.

Re: Detroit Speed 1987 Camaro Test Car 2.0
I’ve done a bit of research and everything I can find says that without the cannister, these cars reek of gas. Plugging the vapor line from the tank sounds like a bad idea. Any more input? Detroit Speed? What did you guys do to get that clean look?

Re: Detroit Speed 1987 Camaro Test Car 2.0
Sorry if this is said some place else, but how was the car refinished on the underside?
I know the entire car got blasted, then epoxy primed, then U-POL truck bed liner was applied to the wheel wells.
Was the underside just painted and cleared? And that's it?

Bringing this back from the dead but was hoping DSE still monitors this.
I am curious what headlights they used and what connectors they used when wiring them up. It looks like a modern connector with the three prong inlets. I hate the way the OEM headlight harness looks and I want to mimic what they did.
