What do you mean? They are 5x120 bolt pattern (pretty sure BMW) but bolts right up to third gens. Specs are 18x10 all four corners, with a +12 offset. I really didn't do a ton of research because member, Zach/90\irocZ, had a pretty good write up. He used the same exact wheels as me, but just had a different offset and color. He has a 3rd gen rear end so I knew it would be a stretch, literally, to make these fit. The tires I bought actually came early and I dropped them off at NTB earlier today around 3, but had to go to work so I couldn't pick them up. I will have them back tomorrow and should have pictures for you all. As I stated before, I am extremely nervous about the look the rears are going to have.
I like a somewhat wider rear, like I do now with my 4th gen, but I am thinking it could look odd. We will see

Picked them up today from NTB! I ended up stripping a lug with my shitty 4-way, so I will have to deal with that. I might not have pictures of them on the car today, but I do have pictures of the tires mounted on the wheel!

Re: Update on my '92 Firebird (LOTS of pics) New paint soon?
Sorry guys! Nobody wants to see them on more than me, trust me!
We got hit with yet another winter storm and got snow...just an insane winter for Ohio so I just haven't had the chance to get them on. I did remove that lug though...check this thing out:
I used an Irwin sprial teeth 19mm socket, hammered it on and used a breaker bar and it came loose. Was a pita though...it didn't wanna come off being previously put on with air.
Ok so here are the pics of the wheels and tires, now before I post them I want to be very clear about something. I, ME, Kristian, like the look of stretched tires. I know it is an import/drift style, but I really like the look and that's what I wanted to have on my car. So I ordered tires that all the import/drifters use for stretching tires. Dunlop Direzza DZ101's are a high performance summer tire, and like I said are really popular in the stretch community. Also note that my car is extremely low, and I needed very low profile tires to even fit the look that I wanted. Now please for all the people who want to hate on my decision and my car please just go away...you don't have to tell me that it will look awful, it's worse for performance, I'll curb rash and ruin my rims, I'm ruining the third gen name, the wheels will fly off when I'm driving. Just shut it...you're wrong. Also want to make it very clear that this was also not a money decision which is what a lot of people like to say. I could have bought any tires that I wanted. It was a decision based off the fact that I wanted stretched tires with a little lip sticking out and that's it. I think it looks good

Not trying to be parade-rainer-on-er, but it looks to me like those tires are too narrow for those wheels, and those wheels, unfortunately, might be too wide for your application.

I think his request was actually that he wanted people with opinions like yours to go away lol

yes I understand (and I did note the "lol" at the end of your comment) but just for the record, I saw the photos, commented, then went back and read the post that went with the photos, and then commented again that I was unaware that that was the look that he was going for. at first, it seemed to me that he had a mismatch of parts. now it sounds like I'm passive-aggressively shitting on his choice...
guess we'll wait and see how it looks on the car.

Re: Update on my '92 Firebird (LOTS of pics) New paint soon?
Well it's just typical for people to be pretty one sided, especially in this car community. If I don't put 305 tires that have a bulging sidewall on my car people will freak out and think it's stupid. lol I think stretched tires look good, so what? Now people realize that my setup is very minimal stretching, which is what I wanted. Just has a tad amount of lip sticking out, which was inevitable because I needed the clearance for my fenders or I would have rubbed really bad. I made sure you could see the lip in the pictures really good, but it really isn't that noticeable just looking at them. It's very tastefully done. Even though this is probably what you see lol:
I HATE when the wheels stick out a ton, I think it looks awful. But when it's done right, I love it.
If you have no idea what stretching is, here is a video of how it is done. They use a high pressure air gun called a "Cheetah"
This is pretty much the exact amount of stretch that I have for a better view;

from performance stand point , and im not talking about the extreme tire stretch that goes on like pic posted above , there are performance gains that can be seen and better response and feedback from the tires , due to the stiffer sidewall from being stretch it is practice and alot of racing organizations and factory car manufacturers look into the ZL1 Camaro which runs a stretch tire in the rear for better balance response and handling, and many other especially the german and japanese sports sedans and coupes so to say 18x10 all around and reasonable stretch tire is a mismatch or is to wide for a f body application isnt ideal than thats wrong idea and I can say that some of the best thirdgens handling wise are running a 9.5 or wider all around and IMO is the perfect setup for our cars and love it wouldnt go narrower than 9.5
Drag racing application Is different but you get my drift
you can check my sig and thread if you have any questions lol

Wasn't expecting that. I've seen quite a few cars with tires stretched and haven't liked a single one. I think being yours in black on black it is less noticeable. Also, that beamer doesn't look bad at all.
Was 82F today here in FL...enjoy your snow, hahaha. Not funny actually. My a/c doesn't work and my driver side window decided to quit working today. Perfect timing.

After viewing the BMW and the GTO again and again...the BMW looks okay with the stretch but the GTO is just calling for some more meat. Good looking car none-the-less...maybe I'm just use to seeing it with wider tires.
FooF, hopefully the weather clears up for you all up there and you are able to add the wheels to your car soon.

wrong. but more times than not, when I see a wheel/tire combination like yours, it is simply a mismatch of parts that wasn't very well thought out - not a deliberate visual statement.

Here is how I was able to calculate clearance and fitment...used this quite a bit when it came down to tire size and what it would look like. A VERY good program for anyone trying to calculate wheel and tire combos and what it would look like.

It's an immediate download link, should be an excel program. Check it out

At the very least you should shave the lug seats to the same 5 on 120.65mm pattern like //<86TA>\\ did on his BMW wheels so they won't stress the studs.
Been following your thread for a while. You had me until the tires :/

Hmmm .. I like where you going with the car
IMO a fender flare custom or something can't put my thumb on it , would like look see lower stance to get it perfect for starters lol
Did you remove your rear rubber isolator and to heater hose mod, that can help even out your stance and give less of a rake when I did mines my rear dropped about a 1/2 inch
Or maybe a ground control setup
Did you roll fender in rear ? Had to tell can gain some clearance from there if you haven't
Looks killer I was partial to the gunmetal, especially when I black out the tail lights , they didn't have black In stock when I got mines at the time ... I'm still lost on what wheels I want to settle on , traded my wheels for xxr 531s now smh

I thought the 521's looked amazing on your car. The gunmetal/white combo worked as I think the black/blue combo works on my car. But I do think I am biased at this point.
Lol. Yes it is rubbing slightly, but I'll gain some clearance when I roll the fenders!
I am curious though, all the people that said that I got the wrong tires or that they didn't like stretched tires I haven't heard from anyone since I posted pictures? Hmm

Wow this car looks amazing. As a person who doesn't like stretched tires, they work very well on your car. I would do the amber delete tail lights or trans am tail lights and call the car done.

Re: Update on my '92 Firebird (LOTS of pics) New paint soon?
Rear isolated easy to pull out with rear springs , for me just needed to jack rear up to let axle hang , then slid springs out , I never really liked the rake the small details stick out the most to me .
Did you remove front liner ? It's connect to liner to roll front fender you need to remove it
But I agree the gunmetal looked great till the the color of the brakes and engine and the black rear taillights etc , it just didn't seem perfect to me ..then I plan to tint windows so also
then with the Brembo brake upgrade I would off had issues with the front wheels due to .6" offset change and clearance issues with wheel lug bolts with a less than a 1/4" spacer also so either way i need something different ..your offset is a lot more attractive to me as I didn't know they offered them till now and would fit my car well just small slip on in front , the wheels are easy to come by cheap so might snag some up off Craigslist some time ..
But it looks great on you car I'm biased towards black wheels and or black lipped wheels myself lol

My next project is definitely a spoiler swap to the 85-90 aero wing. Does anyone know how these are installed having a 91-92 non-aero wing on the car now?

Yea it will be next in line , worrying about performance right now, should have trouble with the law people run darker , usually people get pulled over for a traffic violation or moving violation then instead of getting ticket for that they give them a tint fix it ticket as a slap on the wrist I was thinking about 20% all around or slightly lighter
Power pulge and wing will look good
variety is good , tired of the old played out corvette wheels lol your going to use adapters make a better choice , unless there track wheels of some short that's that's excusable
For 521 and 526 only know about 3 people running them 3 for the 526 wheels
I love your car so far has a different twist and not the norm lol
What are your other plans to car ?

Re: Update on my '92 Firebird (LOTS of pics) New paint soon?
Thanks man...every man's car is their canvas. I'm always constantly thinking of what I can do to it...feels good to have such an ongoing project. I would however like to have a new car for DD. That may be coming later this year after my promotion at work.
My plans for the car as of today:
- 85-90 aero wing spoiler (used or Hawks)
- 2005+ 5.3 LSX motor swap + cam
- Suspension goodies
- Powerbuldge hood or GTA hood w/vents
- Brake upgrade
- Modernizing interior
- Nice sub and speakers
- HID headlights
That's all I can really think of right now...of course most of that is pretty vague...but you get the idea where I'm going with it.

[QUOTE=Linson;5729760] Wow that thing is insane...how did you get that off? Looks like you might have welded something on to it? lol
Also thanks for all the kind words about my car...feels great! Seems that winter has beaten Spring down a little bit though currently in Ohio...pretty cold temps today and really nothing to look forward to in the forecast. Sigh

Haven't done much with the car besides drive it! Been busy with work and what not and the car being my DD I can only do so much. The only things I've done to it recently are I finally swapped it out with a 140mph 8k gauge cluster with only 100k miles. I replaced every single bulb in it with LEDs from superbrightleds.com
I put some flat black Grand Sport stripes on the fenders, and I also ordered a 99-04 Mustang gloss black bullit fuel door, which I am probably going to plasti dip flat black to stay consistent with my accent color. Pics!

Here is a link to the exact bulbs I bought. I selected "Natural White" as the color.

If you are looking for the pure white look, which is what I was looking for, than do not let the picture fool you. The picture makes them look very pure white, but in person the do have a hue of yellow, but not much. Just a heads up.
