1983 Trans Am Daytona 500 junkyard find
Well here's my 1983 Trans Am Daytona 500 pace car I found at a junkyard.
It's has 90,000 original miles. It did not run and the windshield was cracked. I replaced the fuel pump, clean out the tank. I did plugs, wires, cap & rotor. I also replaced the ECM because it had one from a 1985 Monte Carlo SS that didn't work, guess they tried to start it. More to come just have to finish making a list of what I need to do. The car is virtually rust free so I guess It was sitting inside somewhere. The underside is spotless.

Yes it is. i can't believe what people junk. It runs and drives better than any 83 crossfire I've ever owned. Little work but definitely worth it.
My 89 GTA 350 convertible was purchased not running from guy who was just about to junk it...

Where did you find a dash pad in that good of shape? Mine was pristine until about 2 years ago. It's eating at me....

Thanks to all who replied…I guess people junked it because it didn't run right after having it repaired and spending money doing so time and time again not getting it fixed right…I pulled the ECM and put a crossfire ECM in it instead of the 84 Monte SS computer that was in it. I was very lucky to find this complete 83 DT 500 at the junkyard without parts removed
