New Member, New Car, Maui Blue Formula
New member checking in from Minnesota. I’ve been lurking for about a year fueling the desire to get a thirdgen and finally found one last weekend. A 1989 Formula Firebird 305 V8 TPI Medium Maui Blue two tone Silver,WS6 suspension, 150k Miles was repainted in 2010. Almost rust free underneath. I’m currently a junior mechanical engineering student in college(20 yrs old) and this is the first real car that I’ve owned. I’m looking forward to working on the car and learning a lot from you old farts.

Welcome.
Nice car! One of the best colors. I had a '90 in Maui Blue, but it wasn't two-tone.

Welcome, sharp car. I might be a little partial to the Maui cars as well.

I also love that blue on Formulas. I love black but think the med maui blue is something special on these cars. I’ve owned 2 now, having bought my first one from ksr years ago (pictured in my sig) and then searching everywhere for another maui Formula 2 years ago. This color definitely stands out and isnt the easiest to find.
Your car looks very clean all around.

For now I plan on leaving it mostly stock. I think it looks great as is. Maybe a few speed parts if i'm feeling it. After I finish college I'm thinking about maybe doing an LS swap. The body of this car is in great shape so I think its a good candidate for it.
