Car: 1986 Z28 Camaro Gunmetal Gray with
Engine: GM Crate ZZZ HO 350, Edelbrock head
Transmission: Rebuilt 700r4 all TransGo and Beast
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt with 3.73 gears
Have to sell the Camaro...anyone interested, or know of anyone interested?

Well I have already spent around 9k on this thing and now i gotta cut my losses and get rid of it. Most of you have probably seen it, and can see pics in my sig. Anyways, heres what it has now.

Engine:
ZZZ 350 crate motor with 25k on it (345hp/385tq)
TPI with accel 2x58 throttle body and K&N filters
Edelbrock Headers
High Flow Cat
Flowmaster Catback
NEW Radiator 0 miles
NEW Distributor 0 miles
Tune Up (plugs, wires, coil, etc) 0 miles

Drivetrain:
Just got the 700r4 rebuilt to handle the new motor and a Transgo shift kit and Beast sunshell in it with less than 4 miles on it.
3.73 rear with 25k on it as well (not just the gears, the whole rear)

Interior/Stereo:
Brand new seats
Aiwa head unit with front mounted input
Pretty much all in mint condition with all electronics working (cept the cig lighter occasionally will not work)

Suspension:
Sensatrac struts
Helper springs wrapping rear shocks for launches
American Racing wheels, and brand new BF Goodrich tires

Body:
NO RUST
Basically flawless with a couple dents on each door, and the occasional little ding around the car.
Also, a few small spots with touch up paint, but you gotta get near it to see it.

Points:
Passed inspection in June
Eligible for historic tags
Headliner a little droopy
Clips from seatbelt to headliner are loose, but actual seatbelt still works
Hypertech Chip
Have just about all the reciepts for it
T top car
Very rare color combination. Gunmetal cars are very hard to come by as it is, but only z28s came with a different color gfx (irocs and rs's did not). also, most of the gunmetal z28s came with silver gfx and not charcoal. Just something to think about.

I have been very good to the members on this site and I am not trying to rip anyone off here. I paid 6600 for the car in June, and as you can see, I have done a lot with it recently. Between the tranny rebuild, tune up, and ignition fix i just went through the total comes just short of 9000 dollars. now, everything on the car is new, and i cant see why there would be any new problems with it. My parents want me to "cut my losses" and get a more reliable car for school next year. Also, because of an event I cant mention on here, I really dont have a lot of money to play around with. My parents are makin me get their friends 88 accord 4 door with just under 100k on it please dont make this too hard for me, im going through plenty of other problems as it is. Oh and by the way, it gets about 14 mpg strictly city and over 20 highway (havent calculated). Thanks a lot guys, and thanks for all the help with my car, and the good times we had hanging out.

With a holley stealth ram (~600 bucks) and a higher stall converter this thing could probably hit 12s. Thanks a lot for reading.

Actually, here are a few pictures:

Since this picture, Ebrake has been adjusted properly, and stereo has been replaced.

You can see the new seats, and very clean plastics here.

There is a dent just like this on each side, and thats all, cept a couple tiny dings.

Just looking good after being washed.

Well, I can definitely tell everyone I've seen this car in person at the third gen nationals in '05 and it's a great looking, clean car. Too bad you have to get rid of it, especially after spending so much time, money and effort on it.

If I didn't have a driveway full of f-bodies I'd take this rare ZZ4 on myself -- unfortunately, it's beginning to look like Red Neck heaven as I have three third gens (all beautiful) sitting there and a new fourth gen on the way.

Good luck and hope this doesn't mean we'll lose you on the boards!

no way ill be here. i might go with another third gen, or maybe an early fourth gen. w/e its gonna be its gotta be stock. the accord is just until i sell this and use the money for something id rather have. for a stock car, i wouldnt mind an lt1 6 speed since it would be in my range if it had some miles on it.

well the car is back...its actually running very smooth right now. i think im gonna drive it for the summer. my rents arent making me sell it anymore, but theyre still encouraging it. ill probably hold onto it for now, and get something else at the end of the summer before school starts up again.

hold onto it!!!!! don't let the 'rents tell ya what to do! learn everything about that car and get some good tools so you can do all the work on it yourself. trust me. it'll impress 'em when you can do all your own work and can fix anything on your own car...and then it doesn't matter if it's "reliable" cause you can fix it!

Glad to hear you'll be keeping it through summer -- with the new third gen owner in Damascus, maybe I'll try and coordinate another Rockville gathering in June??? But only if you show up with your car!

cause my dad is stubborn. and they know the car and what theyve done to it. plus theres always the hope that they messed up and theyll cover it. im starting to doubt this thing myself. with a new computer i dont even know what other mechanical parts could be replaced on it. i mean i know i can get some hard parts (suspension, chassis, exterior, etc) but as for the way it runs i think it will be solid. which seems like a dumb place to quit, but i think i gotta get something more of a daily driver.

That car will make a fine daily driver once you get it right. Chances are that any other car that you get will need work too. No sense dumping the money into a different car then fixing that one. Keep the monkeys out from under the hood screwing things up and you'll be fine.

If you ask me, I'd sell it. It's far to obvious from where I sit that you have no idea about how the car works, what it needs or how to take care of it. I cross over a number of threads you write and they are all the same. I'm going to get an LT1 intake. I'm going to do a manual trans swap. I sold the manual setup, going with auto. I just got the trans installed. Car runs great! Car runs like crap? The trans is being worked on. The trans works great. The trans suxs! I am going to sell the car. I'm not going to sell the car. The car runs great. The trans suks. I have to sell the car.

I'm mean, make up you mind Damm it!

You are lucky that so many of the members of this board give a crap about you and your car. For me I think you have too many people helping you fix the car. Your asking too many people how they would fix the car or their opinion of a problem. And most importantly you are not listening when the right people tell you how to do it. You keep asking until you hear what you want to hear. Besides, the third gen's are not that complicted of cars or electronics. So if you or the people helping you fix the car can't do it they are in way over their heads. So, get rid of the car, buy a Honda Civic and stop posting.

OneBadZ4u

Sorry, but it needed to be said. And, I don't care what you think.

ouch. so i throw a lot of ideas around, doesnt hurt to get second opinions, and the reason i get opinions is because like you said i "obviously dont know anything about cars," so i figure more opinions before i go through with something would be a good idea. but beside the point, you have no idea what other kinda **** is going on in my life, and my car isnt really my first concern. how else am i gonna learn about this thing if nobody teaches me about it. if i just sit back and try not to look like the dumbass i am, im never going to learn anything, and ill just have bigger problems later on. sorry for not being taught about cars in the past, and trying to learn while i have a chance to talk to good people like you guys about it. didnt know itd **** you off so much. tony, i got a couple things to ask you and if you see me online, just throw me an IM. my friend wants to pay you to do a little work for him (third gen also), just thought id ask you. if not, dont feel bad.

Is it Adam? You have done nothing to **** me off personally. It is just the way go about trying to fix your car up or your posting. Oh, and it's not second opinions with you it's third, fourt, fith, etc. You don't seem to have any focus on specific issues or a general plan of attack. I.E. Why try and improve suspension, engine performance, drivetrain and etc, if your car runs like crap. I mean, get the car running right for a while and then plan something new.

And if your car is running like ****, why not ask if someone can stop by and put an ear to it. We all have problems with our cars and could use a little help. I told you before that I would help you with your trans swap(I work in rockville), all I wanted to do is see what kind of parts you had to see if you had or needed anything. Then you decided you were going to sell the T5 setup and put in the 700R4 again. That was fine, but why bother asking for help for something you wern't going to be doing??

No, I am not mad about not being able to help you. Ultimately I wasn't going to charge you anything to help you. Yea, free labor or you buy me dinner and some beer on the T5 swap. Not that I would want to do it everyday or all the time. Sure, I would probally have been two weeks, but it would have been done and done right. I have been you before. Nobody seemed to help guide me in the right direction. I did get some mecanical help, but no direction. That's why I wanted to help. And still wouldn't mind stopping by and taking a look. There is nothing I can't stand more than people paying large amounts of money to fix a car that the person fixing isn't qualfied to fix.

So in conclusion, if you need help ask. If you get advice listen. Stop posting to every damm thread and starting a million threads. Finially if you continue to take your car to the same place and they can't fix it, well you know the answer to that. I am no expert on cars. I have fixed numerous issues with my cars and would consider myself well educated on TPI Fbodies. If I can't help you, I'll tell you so.

Your manic advisor,
OneBadZ4U
