Anyone in Delaware/Eastern Maryland?

Pretty much what the title says. Is anyone else on here from lower, slower Delaware?

So far I only know of myself obviously, and ninetyone. I think I ran across another member from northern Delaware before, just don't remember their name. Not sure about you MD guys, but from what I hear, there's quite the car scene around O.C. and Salisbury.

Awesome man. I think I know your area pretty decently. Used to live over in Bridgeville, so pretty close to Federalsburg and that area.

That'd be great man. I sort of want to go down to the O.C. show. Never managed to go, and I've been down here since 2007.

I know what you mean. I've seen a few third gens here, pretty much all Camaros except for two Firebirds. The Camaros usually seem pretty trashed, just not taken care of at all.

I know what it feels like. My IROC has been sitting around for what feels like forever, and I just can't get myself to have much interest in it. I want to build a decent 383 for it, but I just keep putting my money towards other stuff. One day.

Well hopefully you can easily take bolt on L98 cars. My Mustang only has gears, exhaust, a CAI, and tune. There will be Mustangs with a lot more done than mine. Cammed, nitrous, long tubes, ported heads, serious weight reduction, etc. Then there will probably be the typical Vortech V2 blown 99-04 GT that'll make around 400 RWHP with bolt ons and a good tune.

Re: Anyone in Delaware/Eastern Maryland?

I honestly think before I get into the whole "incredibly fast" car game, I'll buy a bike. I can just buy a stock 2004-2006 Yamaha R1 and have no trouble at all with nearly any street car out there. Unless they're into the 9's, and can hit about 180 MPH in a matter of just seconds past the quarter mile.

Re: Anyone in Delaware/Eastern Maryland?

Usually around mid may things start to heat up. Almost any weekend you can go out and cruise and there will be plenty of cars out. Alot of guys with serious machines too. Even some of the imports will give you a run for your money. There are still plenty of idiots out too. Saw lots of LSx's and mustangs last summer so this year its time for some third gens!

There will be a third gen owner, in a Mustang, if that counts for anything.

Re: Anyone in Delaware/Eastern Maryland?

Northern DE here, just minutes away from the bridge actually.

Unfortunately, I'm thirdgenless right now (actually I don't have ANY performance cars at the moment). Just my daily driver 97' Saturn SC2 5speed, and my wifes 97' Regal GS (at least it's supercharged).

Hoping to get back into a RWD car soon. More than likely it'll be another thirdgen.

It feels like I'm thirdgenless too, sort of. All the IROC does is sit in the garage, not running.

Re: Anyone in Delaware/Eastern Maryland?

Unfortunately any cruising I do this year will be in the Mustang, which isn't bad at all, just not good news for a third gen F body forum. I'm starting to think the IROC will sit in the garage forever.

After I do a single turbo build on the Mustang, my plan is to buy a truck. At least I'm holding onto the IROC for a good build down the road.

Awesome. I'll have to see if any of you Delaware and Maryland people feel like cruising around this summer. Even if it's with the Mustang. Wouldn't know where the hell to go besides cruising around route 1 near Rehoboth beach and what not, but it'd probably be fun.

Re: Anyone in Delaware/Eastern Maryland?

I'd come pick you up in the Mustang if a few guys around O.C. and southern DE wanted to setup a cruise. It'd be totally the opposite of the point of setting up a cruise from a third gen site, but it's all I have use of for now. Does make a good cruiser though. A/C, Mach 460 sound system, leather seats, and even with 3.73 gears it does 70 pretty quietly at only 2,100 RPM.

IROC's engine = on the ground

If you buy my seats that you had some interest in back in February I'll have plenty of extra gas money, and I'll show up so that you guys have a Mustang to pick on!

I only have a little over 2K saved and I'm trying to not dip into money that's either going towards a second DD, a bike, or both. I'm a very confused person mainly due to the price of diesel. I wanted a newer Ram 2500 Cummins as my next daily driver, but with diesel climbing and climbing I won't be able to afford under 20 MPG at over $4 a gallon. So much for saving all of this year and buying a big useless diesel truck before next spring.

Tell my Camaro to stop falling apart then I'd gladly buy the seats stuff keeps breaking and I'm strapped for cash to keep fixing it.

Re: Anyone in Delaware/Eastern Maryland?

Me too, I need some of this stuff gone. Just in my house I have the full set of seats sitting around, the IROC's doors, fenders, all of the interior plastics, console, etc, plus some Mustang parts. Then out in the garage I have the IROC's hood laying around, the 700R4 is out, 350 is out and torn down, just sitting around.

I was hoping you'd pick up the seats since you're close. They're in my living room now. Thought I had them sold to someone else, then had to lug them back inside.

Re: Anyone in Delaware/Eastern Maryland?

Salisbury during the week. Back to the Tidewater area on weekends. Trying to get relocated to possibly Stockton, MD. That way I can get Historic tags for the IROC and not have to worry about the VA inspection, like I do now. Actually, all I need now for the inspection is a new exhaust, and I'll be doing some cruising of my own.

Re: Anyone in Delaware/Eastern Maryland?

Well, as of tomorrow (hopefully) I'll be back in a thirdgen. The car needs some work (what thirdgen doesn't tho), but it should be ready for some fun in a few weeks.

If anyone goes to Cecil on Saturdays for test and tune, you'll probably see me there.

I'm from Denton Maryland (Caroline County), but I don't have a 3rd Gen to cruise in at the moment. Hopefully getting back in 1 very soon.

I am from Queen Annes county. First thing you hit when you come across the bay bridge from the western shore. I have an 86 bird that I am in the process of gettin back on the road. Anybody around here with LSX swap experience will be my new best friend.

He has a Caddy CTS that came stock with an LS6, so I don't think he'd have too much info on swapping one into a third gen.

But yeah, I've thought about an LSx swap. Just too much of a hassle compared to a carbureted SBC or L98 TPI. I'd rather buy an LS1 'Bird if I ever want to get in on the LS1 scene.

Kent Island here. I've been lurking here for a LOOOONG time now. Getting ideas for when I finally have my 3rd gen!

By the way if anybody knows where a good rolling chassis is let me know please!!! I'm trying to get my big turbo LSX project started!

Hell, buy mine. I almost want to get rid of it, but I'm not sure, since it's a very good foundation for a project. Only rust I've seen is near the battery tray, has been just sitting in my garage since 2008. Completely torn down right now.
