I'm in Whiteside county, Albany IL. I am desperately seeking a thirdgen. All I find is rust buckets or some kid that put on a K&N and thinks it will run an 11.45 and wants $7000 for it. I wish I could find a Trans Am or Firebird, 86 - 92 with a 305 or 350 and a 5 speed, under 100000 miles and a good body. T tops would be nice too.

I'm about 30 minutes from sterling, right on the banks of the mississippi. I would say about an hour from Rock Falls. It is hard to find a 5 speed thirdgen, esp one that hasn't been all ripped apart. ANY THIRD GEN WILL DO!!!

amen to that. i'm in roscoe(just north of rockford), and i cant find too much thats tpi for under 4000, thats not rusting out the wheel wells, or has a mind boggling amount of miles. theres a pretty nice carbed 305 t/a just down the road from me, its on autotrader, if ya wanna take a look: http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/v...&car_year=1987 . i saw in one of your other posts that u want a project car, somewhere between rochelle and clinton on hignway 30 there is a blue and silver t/a that needs work, not sure any details. so if anybody sees anything tpi out there for under 4k, let me know. sorry for the long post

i know (kinda) tha blue and grey ta you are talking about, the guy wants me to buy it from him for about 1300. I'm gonna look at it, but not sure if i have the money for it right now. we have to run the numbers on the block cause it is supposed to have a 350 now

hey kagA154 I saw that 87 trans am in some car trader mag. It looks good but not with those wheels (UGH!). That carb can't be right on an 87.........Anyway it looks ok. I was looking at this car. It is in Whitewater WI. That is what I really want, but with T tops not that sun roof....and a 5 speed.

there is a 91 tpi 305 auto in dekalb. white, t-tops, clean car. $6000.

oh yeah, I just saw the indy pace car in sweet shape just outside of oregon. not sure what the asking price or anything is. I can find out though. I am going that way later today so I can check it out.

82 indy z28, 21K and change, all original, t-tops, SWEET RIDE--->$10,500

90 firebird formula, 305 auto, hardtop, red on grey, no rust thru (only surface and that isnt even that bad), didnt get milage (sorry), dented drivers door, good project car--->$3700 (probally flexible)

And the 91 camaro rs already mentioned.

the other camaro wasnt for sale it was a real nice 87 z though.

wheres that 90 formula? i went and look at one in genoa(north of dekalb), but it was a 350, same price too. some surface rust, crack in the nose, some paint chips. its got an airfoil, runners, flowmaster catback, and a rebuilt tranny. 94000 on the body/engine, 13000 on the tranny(i think) not a bad car, just needs a little body work. if i can find his phone number, ill post it.

the white 91 is actually a 92. I goofed on that. It has come down to $5000. The 90 formula is in oregon on rte 2 right next to the brian bemis dealership.

I also found a 91 rs with t-tops, red with silver gfx, grey int., but it has a 3.4 V6 and an auto. 103k, nice shape, $3000.

3.4 v-6? what is that doing in there? Is that the DOHC motor? I sort of like the sound of that 92. I plan to go look at 91FBTA's 91 firebird in whitewater wisconsin.

I cant say for sure it is a 3.4. That is what I was told by the guy who owns it. But he does not speak english real well so there may be a miscommunication (sp?). You guys just let me know what you want to see.
