DAAAAAAMMMNNN!!!

LOL. That is even further than the first place. We really gotta find shows that are closer.

But hey, in the back of your heads, EVERYONE, plan to drive up to Worcester for the summer nationals next year. Everyone who didn't have their cars on the road, has a whole year to get ready. Me, Nick and Tj, as well as 3 other guys have already dedicated to it. Should be just about the most fun a car club can have,

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

Summer Nats is where it's at!! Yummmmmmm.....bikini contest . Another idea for a meet is a I-90 (mass pike) cruise..not sure where to but if the Boston crew heads east and the CT crew heads west we'll meet up somewhere, then drive to a predetermined destination. 14 or so 3rd gens in a row on the pike would look pretty cool. Dennis, can you or anyone else think of anything of interest somwhere off the pike??

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

Well, finally made it online to say hello and good to meet those who came...

Was a nightmare drive for me... Worn DR's on a rain soaked road is not a good thing!

I was glad i made it there - it's a long drive for me in the first place too - about 65 miles... Going to be tough for me to make it to the vernon show, i get out of work normally at 530, and it's at least an 1 1/2 ride up there with traffic.

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

Tell you all what. I'd be happy to have an end of summer barbecue at my place. There should be enough space for our cars. I don't have a huge place but I have a good size yard to grill and hang out for a while. Hell, with all of you guys there we could get my car running (insert laughter here). Let me know if you're interested. I'm in Enfield, CT (exit 65 off 91N). I can do Saturdays, Sundays, etc.

Hey AC, after reading about your car details I would love to come and check it out and barbecue. Just let me know what I can bring to help out. Do you mean exit 45, not 65?

Hell yeah. I would be down for that. Especially if it was on a Sat. or Sun. Those are ideal days for me. My car is running great so I can def make it down to wherever you live.

Also as for that pike gather... I will talk to Nick (86midnightblue), I think, he lives up here and go to school down there in CT so he knows the pike pretty well from here to there. I am 100% positive he will have some ideas.

I am sure we can find one of those McDonald/Exxon rest stops that have HUGE parking lots or something. I will call him this afternoon to see what he says. Then I will ask if he can post any places that maybe we can google map.

So you guys are all in for SUMMER NATS next year?!?!?!? That would be great!

Oh and finally, AC, what do you need to do to get your car running? A set of pipes? you have pipe, cutter, welder? what kinda headers do you have?

Hey, I just google mapped enfield and boston. Worcester is pretty close to right in the middle!!! Thats awsome cuz I know there are a TON of car shows around there. It is about 1 hr from Enfield and about 45 min from Boston. Def a great middle.

Just wanted to put that out there

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

To get her road worthy in revserse order, I need to break in my rear end, transmission and engine becasue their all new. To do that I need to fab my 3" true dual exhaust that will bolt to my existing Hooker 2210's. And finally the biggest, tune either the 8D super_aujp_v3 code or go straight to the 749 ecm running the $59 code.

Summer Nats would be sick! Get like 20+ thirdgens, plus it would give everyone enough time to get their cars lookin good.

Exactly.

AC, well I know how to do everything except that last thing you said about ECU stuff. You might as well have been speaking Chinese. Maybe when I come over, you can fill me in as to what all that crap means since future plans will most likely involve a S/C and F.I.

AC

If you don't mind being loud for a while or wanna just mod my old pipes I can sell them to you for REAL cheap. Not sure if you have gone thorugh my CD site, but here are a few pics of my old true dual setup.

Honelty though I am not 100% sure that I wanna sell it, now that I look at it, it is kinda cool, I may still hack it up and find a way to use it and my 4" catback to make a crazy high ground clearance exhaust.

Put still, just putting it out there. It will bolt up to 2210s and go around a spohn tranny x-member

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

Worcester is a good middle point for people to come to. I dont know of any shows on sundays around here but I hang out with a lot of people from NEMS on friday after a cruise and on saturday nights and stuff it would be a lot of fun. We could even meet up at my work, Playoffs arcade and hang out and play pool and stuff. The summer nationals are great I go every year and my car should be done and a lot faster by then. I'm in!

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

hey guys im on the cape right now and my car is acting up and not idling well but... it seems like you guys had a good show on last friday. i hope that our group from the boston area can meet up with your group down there sometime soon before the snow starts falling.

as dennis said i am from boston and spend the summers there but i go to school in hartford so im going back and forth like all the time. i would say worcester and the surrounding southern towns are pretty much halfway in between boston and hartford. if people from ct are coming from the new haven area then worcester would be quite a hike. i think that barbecque sounds like a good idea too. theres thursday night cruises at the kimball farm and at the herbert candy manson both i believe are near worcester. i'll keep thinking about it and hopefully i'll think of something.

also i think that it would be awsome to have a big group for summer nationals. i have been going for the past 5 years and essentially live for that weekend. the show is on the 4th of july weekend it attracts thousands of cars from all over new england. we could rope off our own shady area in the park and have a cookout and really turn alot of heads. for those of you have never gone check out pics at www.summernationals.com.

finally here's a pic of my car and dennis's car at the weekly cruise in framignham that we go to. it would be great if some of the ct guys could make the trek up sometime.

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

Nice PIC Nick. Now we just need to add more and more thirdgen till we can take up a whole row. haha.

OK so I am going to start NOW and make a list of people that are going to be 100% IN, for next years summer Nats. I know it is a long time away, but the sooner we start planning the better we can get it all working.

That way we can get in groups and all travel togeather, plan what time to get there, and so on so that it goes off like clockwork. We don't want ONE guy to get there and try to tape and area off all by himself, and later find that he didn't get a big enough area.

So if you are in, I will copy your name from the master list and add you to the 08 Summer Nats list.

Again, just as a reminder, if I don't have your info yet and you are interested in being a part of all these crusises and stuff, PM me.

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

maybe we could get a sub board here in the NorthEast forum.. seems like there is a decent amount of interest. Maybe a Boston/Connecticut board, or even New England. It might be easier than having 1 or 2 very long threads. Especially for anyone new to try and sort out. I'd hate to take it off of the TGO site and lose potential new comers.

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

Count me in seeming how the Summer nats. are like 5 mins from my house. My house is close by so if people wanted to camp out here it would be cool. I have a good sized yard and everything so people dont hafta spend a fortune on a room or drive back and forth. If anyone hasnt been to the summer nationals and wants to know anything let me know, I've been going for about 10 years now so I know everything that goes on. I know my car is going next year, even if its on a flatbed it's still going.

What about everyone going to Chevyfest, Sept. 30th at NED? Its a lot sooner and I know I have work off to go. Anyone interested? I know its a hike from CT but it should be a big show I'm guessing.

That would be a cool thing to get a group up for and it's a Sunday so I don't see why I couldn't make it. It's a little under 2 hours if I remember right. That was the first track I ever raced at.

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

I'd be in for the Chevyfest. Thats the first and only track I've raced at so far. I'd have to most likely bring my Tahoe though....unless I get my b*tch running...then all bets are off and I'm pissin off the sound police in Epping!

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

One other note. I'll be emailing the contacts I have so far for my barbecue on the 15th. Please PM me with your email address if you think you can do Sept.15th in Enfield, CT at my place. By next Wednesday I'll email those people on a time that things will kick off. Nothing huge but looking to get the members of the 2 groups (Boston & CT) together for a meet and eat.

Possible engine knock right now so I have no clue as to whats going on with my car this year. I might take my top end and throw it on my other 400 and just run that POS. This is

Heres the vid of it starting, the car is untuned and the timing is rediculously off with just shorty headers and y pipe but everyone says its knocking.

I hate making diagnosis from listening to a clip. I guess it could be something else. Cracked flexplate will sound just like that, I guess I am saying don't jump to conclusions just yet. How is the oil pressure?

Just so people know, I have been getting more e-mails from other people over the net. My mater list is getting long.

Oh and on a side note. I got my C5 Z06 brakes last week. They will be going on next week when the fresh dyno tune happens

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

Nice Dennis, wish I could make it to the dyno with you but right now everything is up in the air. Not sure whats going on with my car esp. if the crank and/or rods are damaged. I'm thinking about taking the crank and rods out of the other 400 I have and just do the bearings, maybe some new low compression pistons so then I can add some boost. 12.5:1 is too high right now.

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

yeah, i hear that. 12.5 is pretty high. I am at 10.5 static and about 9.5 dynamic. I still run 93 all the time just cuz I like to. I feel like in the futire if I ever feel like adding a little boost I can. But for now its all N20 fun for me. Hope your bottom end isn't too screwed up.

Re: Any interest in a CT thirdgen meet

A 3.875 stroke and my 4.155 bore would make it a 420ci sbc. Nt bad at all and hardly any machine work to fit the extra .125" stroke, hopefully 6" rods wont be too big or anyhting, that ones up in the air still. Anyways, so whos in for chevyfest? We should make a meetup point for everyone so we can park together and stuff.

Well I dont know too much. It's at NED and its on Sept. 30th. This is the inaugural year of it so who knows whats going to happen. Theres a carshow and drag racing. Thats about all I know, go to NED's website and find out more if you want. My dad and I are going up with his T/A and maybe my buddies 05 GTO.
