New member and "new" IROC project

Hello all glad to finally have a reason to have an account here. After oogling over my dads black and gold 86 IROC my whole life I finally bought one of my own. She's had a rough life and is definitely a project but she runs and drives atm. The seller told me he bought it from an old man who built it up from a shell for drag racing not super excited about that since it's a t top car with no chassis braces and it came with a pair of very worn drag radials. Supposedly it has a 5.7 with some work to it, the only thing he could tell me it has is roller rockers and a mild cam of some sort. There's definitely some work done to the trans as well as it shifts very quickly. The paint is pretty rough but there are no serious dents or rust spots other than behind the rear wheels.
My goal is to have a reliable car that looks good and doesn't draw too much attention so I don't have to worry about taking it out. I have tons of questions and haven't spent much time researching yet so I would appreciate anyone point me in the right direction. The first thing I'll be doing is welding in the Alston SFC's, fixing the exhaust and doing a full tune-up. I need to figure out what kind of engine management I've got going on because there are lots of questionable wires and a MAF sensor which I doubt is stock. The car has some trouble starting and coming off idle which I guess the PO's didn't care much about. There is also a pretty serious clunk coming from the right rear when launching that I haven't identified yet.
Anywho here's some pictures

The clunk in the right rear might be a shock mount, not sure if you've checked them yet but it'd be a good place to look. Looks like it'll be a great project!

It'll be great when it's in one piece I'm sure haha. I'll take a look at that shock mount thanks. Is there any chance that the power has badly damaged something on the chassis? That's my biggest fear right now because I can't see anything wrong.

Too much power could potentially twist the car and break components and twist frames.

Well that's worrying because this car was definitely run very hard. If the bolt holes for my chassis brace don't line up I guess I'll move on haha

Lucky for you if the frame is super twisted these cars are all over the place still!
