finally got 1 inch lowering springs for the vert. i think they are perfect. the ride is still smooth, not like the rice burners hopping all over the place.

Re: finally lowerd the vert

I also used the Hotchkis set but mine dosn't look anywhere near as down & mean as yours. Any clearance issues with the front fenderwells??? I'm having to add a set of 1/8" spacers to the front 88-89 IROC 16" wheels. Nitro

Re: finally lowerd the vert

I've read that convertibles are heavier then a hard top, or t-top car,so that could explain why mine sits lower. the front wheels don't rub at all, i haven't reinstalled the fender liner(think that's what it's called) so i dont know if it will rub or not with them on.

Re: finally lowerd the vert

What wheels and tires do you have on there? I have mine lowered, but the ride is totally hard. Were the springs designed for a vert? How much and where did you get them?

Love the look, I wanted to stay with the stock 91 wheels, but I think 18's or 20's lowered will give a tucked look but still provide some clearance and comfort. This is a difficult formula to get right so any of your information will help lots.

Both Mr Iroc and Smoking look great. I'd be happy to hear about rims and tires from either. Smoking mentioned his nice ride, that is also of great interest to me and specifics there would also help (springs expresssly for convertibles or not, shocks, etc.)

I'm using the stock corvette C6 wheels, 18x8.5 front, 19x10 rear. tires are 265/30/18 and 285/30/19. I bought the spring from summit racing. They are the one inch lowering spring for Hotchkis. I knew i couldn't go any lower then 1 inch because of the rear fender wells being flat at the top. here is a link for the springs.http://store.summitracing.com/partde...514+4294859383

What size rear foot print did you get? Do they rub anywhere? Is that a stock 3rd gen rear?

I'm running 18x8 fronts and 18x11 rears. Tires are 255/45/18 ans 295/40/18.
I forgot the company name of the springs, but I custom ordered them with specific ring weight, and cut them myself. It's been such a long time, but I think the fronts are 180lbs rated and the rear 160.

Re: finally lowerd the vert

Smokin Z, and Mr. Iroc, those large width rear wheels, did you have any clearance issues with them? I would like to have 17" or 18" by 10" rims on the rear of my '84 Z28, and would like to know of any fitment issues either of the two of you had. Any special backspacing or spacers needed with a stock width rear-end? I really don't want tire sticking out from the fenders.
