The people that had the track for the past few years got it back. The timing devices are missing so untill they get some I doubt they can run the track.

The track has been open for at least part of the time since this whole fiasco started. I think Wally even had some timeslips, so they have some sort of a timing system set up.
I might try to make it out there Wally. It'd be good to see ya again, and I want to check out the new car

The track has been open all along...they do have a timing system in place and I have a stack of time slips to prove it from the last two weeks.
DuronClocker, hopefully you do make it out...this new car is nothing special though. Very rough, but not as bad as the '87 was.

There is so much mis-information floating about regarding the track.
And don't ever use the words rough and your 87 in the same sentence EVER again, or i may just have to ban you

Okay, I probably won't be going now. I won't be able to pick up a helmet by Friday. My little Snell SA95 isn't valid anymore

Re: Heading back to 41 on the 24th...anyone else in?
The '87 is just kind of sitting there. I had probably a dozen emails about the drivetrain but no one actually said they'd take it. I do take it to the car shows locally once in a while. It gets way more attention than the '98. People always come and comment on how nice it looks and how they or someone they knew had one. I took it to 41 two weeks ago which was my first time at a track and I could not get it to hook at all. I couldn't get it any better than 13.97 @ 101. The 17's suck traction wise. I should have bolted on a set of junky 16's I have laying around and I think I would have been able to get down to mid 13's. I know the car has a bit more in it, but it needs a better tune and the y-pipe it has is a joke.
I just want to start over with another 3rd gen and do a few things a little different. I'd like to keep the same clean theme though.
DuronClocker, what have you got to run that you need a helmet? I don't think I've seen your car before.
I'm going to try and take a ride to the track tomorrow to see for myself if it is still open like it has been the last two weeks. If anyone is closer and can save me trip, that'd be appreciated. I'm just over an hour away.

Yeah, it was 110* track-side that day too Too bad I only cracked into the 11s once all day out of 25 passes, most of them being 12.0-12.1, lol I can't get off the line to save my life
Come up here to Elmhurst next Wednesday!

I'd be in, but the master plan is to get my car on the road again after sitting for a little over 2 years.
