Not that this hasn't been covered before, but who at GM ever THOUGHT that what they label as a sports car might ever need a baffled tank?

I had forgotten about this little annoying thing, but had a nice reminder today as I took a curved on-ramp hard and then the engine started to die.

For a moment I'm thinking NO, No, NO!! WTF is up with motor now!!?!?!?

Then I looked at the gas gauge which read empty and remembered that some stupid GM engineer didn't think to put a baffled tank into ALL thirdgens.

I personally used to use the non-baffled tank trick in high school. I would take a corner hard on a back road and the engine would cut and I would act dumb and try and start it again and when it wouldn't I would say "oh just gotta let the carb clear out" and then all we had to do was think of something to fill the time.

fuel pumps are cooled by the fuel, no reason to run under half tank anyways

all EFI pumps use the fuel to cool them, what do you mean carb only?

"all EFI pumps use the fuel to cool them, what do you mean carb only?"

I never said carb ONLY....that what you stated in your earlier post you said all fuel pumps are cooled down by the fuel, and i just simply said, not unless they're carburated, and unless it's been enhanced or modified, external fuel pumps are driven from the block externally and not cooled like a EFI ...comprende?!
