Re: **Stolen Truck/Trailer/Race Truck**
Truck and trailer were already found last week.
Anyone stealing the race vehicle isn't stealing it to resell. It's much easier to strip it down and piece it out. Normally, there's already a buyer for the major components so it's unlikely you'll ever see them offered for sale anywhere.
To steal something like that then sit on it for many years before trying to resell even if it was repainted isn't a good option. You always stand the risk of being found while still being in possession of the stolen property.
Everything that has a serial number needs to be recorded and kept at home. Engrave identifying marks in as many things as possible. Take lots of photographs. There's so much you can to to deter a theft but anyone wanting it bad enough won't care anyway. The best thing you can to is some sort of tracking system on the tow vehicle, trailer and race vehicle. If they can't be located within 24-48 hours, chances are you'll never see them again.
There's lots of GPS and cell tracking systems available now. Something mounted inside the car that can't be quickly found or removed. They can always quickly unload the race vehicle into another trailer then abandon the truck and trailer so if the car has a locater, it can still be tracked. When you start getting into very high end race vehicles like that one, spending a few hundred bucks more on a tracking system is cheap insurance. You figure a race vehicle like that is worth a minimum of $50-60,000

And a word to the wise. If found, let the cops do their job. Do not go to get it yourself. I know of a situation where the owner without the cops went to retrieve his trailer/car himself and got arrested. Took thousands in legal fees before the charges where dropped. He was told it was his own fault for a bad decision going around the cops.

Re: **Stolen Truck/Trailer/Race Truck**
That's a bigger inch dodge motor that's not a hemi, so the parts definitely aren't anything common for someone to get rid of. - Honestly seems like it might have been a crime of opportunity, thieves likely took a stab at getting whatever they could from a hotel parking lot after the big race; hopefully when they opened the box & found out they didn't have a mustang/f-body/etc they have a heck of a time doing anything with it.
