With the lack of information given best guess would be somewhere between 15-20 sec

Re: 1/4 mile time

Just guessing and playing with Wallace racing I came up w these 2 .

Wallace Racing - ET/MPH/HP Calculator
Weight is as the car sits on the line: driver and gas in it.
The answers below will be for at sea level and standard pressure/temperature.
(no weather correction).

Calculate ET and MPH from HP and Weight
Weight HP

Your ET / MPH computed from your vehicle weight of 3300 pounds and HP of 165 is 15.81 seconds and MPH of 85.48 MPH.

Re: 1/4 mile time

Both the LU5 and the LG4 would run about just under and over 17 sec respectively. The LU5 had a couple gear options but they did not make a huge difference. Articles from various places can be found on google by typing in 82 trans am 1/4

"The Trans Am had two engine choices for 1982; GM’s LG4 V8 which was a small-block Chevy 5.0 liter (305 CID) 4 bbl. V8 rated at 145 horsepower and 245 lbs/ft of torque. This engine was smooth and moved the light Trans Am well, however a tire burner it was not. Performance was good for its era with 0-60 mph times at around 10 seconds and a quarter-mile time in the 17 second range. The LG4 came standard with GM’s TH200C 3-speed automatic transmission

The stock LU5 to its credit produced 8 horsepower more than the best Ford had to offer with the 1982 Mustang GT. Motor Trend magazine (January 1982) test drove a LU5 equipped Trans Am and achieved a 0-60 mph time of 8.89 seconds and a quarter mile time of 16.75 seconds. "

Re: 1/4 mile time

My 82 Z28 with the Crossfire engine turned a high 16 or lower 17 if I remember correctly. Auto, 3.23 gears, TH200c tranny. Should be pretty close to what you should do.

Re: 1/4 mile time

You need to give us a lot more info. I run an 82 sport coupe with a mild built 350 sbc and a TH350. For most of the year I was running 15.3-15.2 times in the quarter till I made some drastic changes, and I am at 4,260 foot altitude.
