No major changes for this year, did add a wing to the back, not sure if I will make a difference in E.T on an 1/8 mile car. But the builder says it will make it a lot more stable.
Time will tell.
really just love the look of it, so either way I am good.

Carl's Aluminum. lifetime warranty. under $400 to the door.
The owner left his number in the box and said to call before the install. He talked to me for over 40 minutes and told me I could call him anytime with questions.
You don't find that kind of service to often.

Re: What are you updating for the 2018 season

Here are some of my updates.

umi anti roll bar, viking crusader coil overs, wilwood dynalites, umi camber plates, motion raceworks chute mount, stroud 430, ect.

should help get things to hook and slow down.

still need to get over to the welder to finish the tabs on the rear anti roll bar.

now back to under the hood to build more horsepower lol

Re: What are you updating for the 2018 season

Installing a sbc 421 (dyno'd at 686hp)
Installing manual brakes and steering
Later in the summer installing a powerglide good for over 1000hp

Hoping to be well into the 10's on motor

Before the end of the year I am buying a guardian nitrous plate from Inductions solutions and hoping to be well into the 9's or high 8's by the end of 2019

Lots of work left to go

Nice, yea you better be deep in the 10s with almost 700 crank hp. I'm hoping to touch 10.90s with a measly 525-550hp crank long as I can knock off a good 1.48-1.50 60 foot. If you have the right gears, suspension, trans, exc you'll have no issue.

Yes I adjusted it just as umi instructed. It worked right for me. You can always find tune it once you make a pass. Have someone video your launch so you can slow mo watch it and see if you need more preload in one side or another.

Re: What are you updating for the 2018 season

Nice man congrats, Those are stout numbers! Cant wait to see some 1/4 figures!

I haven't updated this for a bit but right now I am building a QFT 1050cfm 4150 carb to put on the car.
Also after reviewing many logs I found that with the way the car was wired I was experiencing a .400-.480 delay from the release of the brake until the activation of the nitrous. This was due to the progressive taking that long to fire up and get its bearings and begin its cycle when powered up off the relay.

I am thinking this was a contributor to my "soft" 60 ft times. Averaged 1.39 60's but run out the back door right at 150mph, I am thinking this should really wake it up.

Trying to get all the bugs ironed out before going to the heads up race in july.

Also the car is getting a 10lb safecraft fire system. This will go far to put both my mind and my families at ease while having a fun day lol

thanks man!
we tried some 1/4 this weekend but the ignition retard didn’t work(my fault of course) and at the limiter it killed the 2 belts that we had!
Now im putting my super pulley back on the head unit and a bigger pulley on the crank so it’s the same blower rpm as it was on the Dyno. And with that setup we can use the belts we ran last years and with them there has never been an issue.
next time racing is in a couple of weeks but it’s the Swedish version of Drag week with 1/8 unprepared racing. So I don’t think we’re gonna see some records
here is a YouTube link from the Dyno:

it sounds killer!

When you get your nitrous to kick in directly your probably gonna see some very good 60s

Re: What are you updating for the 2018 season

You are very correct. With soft settings in the progressive to get it to hook those 10.5's it still went 1.33 to the 60 now that I have the delay gone.
