Nitrous cam help
I am about ready to pull my hair out choosing a hydraulic roller cam! If anyone can shoot their personal suggestions, I would appreciate it very much.
Specs on my engine: 383 four bolt main, 1 piece rear, wiseco pistons (forged), Eagle forged 6" rods, Scat crank, race bearings, etc on the bottom end, balanced. Pro Topline vortec heads gasket matched to an RPM air gap intake. Compression is roughly 10.7:1. LT hedman headers, will go to hooker coated LTs when the money is available.
My goals are 480-500hp n/a at the fly wheel, and I will be spraying 150-200 wet shot on top of it. A choppy idle is fine, and the car is a weekend warrior. Redline accourding to the shop is 7k, and my heads have been machined to handle a .600" lift. I have been reading a lot on the cc 306, and though it seems to be a great cam, it also seems to be a little out dated. I like the GM847, but I'm not sure if it can meet my goal. TPIS seems to have a nice selection, albiet pricey as hell, but I would be willing to drop the extra money in the cam if it is worth it.
Any ideas?

Custom grind or cc306. I got a 306 in my 350 and I like it. You might want to look into something in the 240/250 range b/c of the bigger cubes and hp goals. I wouldn't worry about a n2o cam unless you plan on going over 200hp.

How do you think the lunati 54762 would do?
The lift is .525/.540" w/ 1.5's I think that should work well with my heads. I can get more lift w/ 1.6's when I go with better heads down the road. Dur. is 300/310 and 242/252 @.050. The only thing I am worried about is the LSA of 110. Is it wise to run nitrous with that?

Ever consider Comp's NX288HR? I've seen some pretty impressive results from that line of cams. The car may be a bit slower on motor but it'll pick up a lot on nitrous.
236/248 @ 050, .520/.540 lift, 113LSA
...That would probably be my pick (short of having a custom one made) if that was my motor. It'd make good power on motor, abnormally good power on nitrous, and you'd keep the RPM's at a nice easy-on-parts level.
