MSD TECH - MSD CPC Ignition (PN:7600)

I was going to purchase the FAST eDist distributorless ignition, but I recently saw an ad for MSD's new Coil Per Cylinder distributorless ignition system.

How does this system compare to the FAST eDIST? I see it uses one coil per cylinder, as opposed to 1 coil foe every two cylinders. I am under the impression that with the FAST eDist I would also need to purchase a MSD DIS-4 box, and cam plug. Since the MSD system appears to have everything, including a set of wires, I'm leaning that way. Also when will it be available for retail sale and how much will it retail for? I called Jeg's and they didn't know what I was talking about and didn't even have the PN in their system or a price.

I will be using this system with a FAST SEFI engine management system with wide band and individual cylinder control, and crank trigger. Since my EFI system has individual cylinder timing and fuel control, will the CPC's individual cylinder timing control benefit me, or should I just go with the MSD DIS ignition setup?

Thanks in advance.

go over and post this in the DFI section and/or www.turbobuick.com

they know a lot about that kind of stuff

--Also, has Tom gotton around to doing anything yet?

i wish i would've known you were going to go to him because he has a bad reputation for TAKING FOREVER.

Do you have your header flanges yet?

Just a FYI...i was at ASSC today and Larry has a set of 18* twin turbo small block chevy headers for sale. They are probably not engine specific to yours, but it could get Tom a lot of what he needs

give them a call, they're located in lake bluff

Thanks Jimmy.
I discussed it with Craig Smith from FAST today and he gave me the info I needed. Although I'm a huge FAST fan (FAST SEFI and TCI TCU) the MSD CPC is the way to go for me.

As for TRZ, they are very busy, as are all good shops, especially this time of the year. I was hoping to have my car back by now, but things happen. Unfortunately, SPD sent us Pontiac 18* head flanges that have round exhaust ports, rather than Chevy/Dart 18* head flanges that have rectangular 18* head flanges. We've got them now. Since the head flange is the foundation od any header, there wasn't a whole lot Tom could do until he got the right one. In the meantime, I started working on a NMRA turbo racecar. He's finsihing that up this week and starting full time on mine Monday. I've only known Tom for s short amount of time, but he's a good guy and I like him. He has nothing to prove to me, because his record and reputation speaks for itself. I've talked to him and he has promised me the car the within the next 3 weeks or so. I'm going down there next Friday, if he hasn't started working on it by then, in earnest, then I'll get concerned and explore other options. But besides Troy Trepanier, I feel that TRZ is my best option in the area and he has a proven record of producing chamionshiup winning, show quality work.

Nile at S&S Chassis told me about those turbo headers that ASSC has. Nile said he built them years ago and I considered going up there and checking them out. He said he built them for the guy who owned the C4 Corvette that John Meaney now has. I don't remember all the details, but unfortunatlely, I am told he died, and now John has the car. Nile called Jim for me and Jim said I could try them out on my car to see if they would work, but I wanted to get the headers made from 321 16 gauge stainless. They still wanted $1500 for the used headers. I'd rather get them custom fabbed for my application at this point, and ensure they are maximized for my setup.
