Trans-go shift kit question(s)

Hi guys, I have a couple questions concerning the trans-go shift kits. I have an 86 IROC 305 auto and I am wondering as to how well others have seen improvements in there cars. Would you recommend this to me or something else. I know it helps the tranny out ALOT but I mean did anyone see imporvements in the 1/4times etc.. Also I want to keep the stock shifter knob so it retains the stock look, does it come with a different shifter? If so do you have to put it on? Please fill me in Thanks!!!

I have it and did see an improvement in 1/4 times by approximately 2 to 4 tents, however my trans shifted really slow and sloppy almost glided in to gear. You will keep your stock shifter, the kit has nothing to do with it. Sorry I don't have a more exact 1/4 time improvement because I also did some throttle body work at the same time and I actually picked up 1/2 sec the next time I went to the track. With the 245's I could crack second anytime, I now have 265's and I have to be on the car a little harder but I can still catch second. I have had the kit about 4 yrs with no trans trouble what so ever.
