I have some very mild rust on my under body, and suspension components (sway bars, center link, etc..), and a major rust spot on my drivers side door where the lock came loose and chipped paint away, and it rused good. Anyways, I was thinking of using POR-15 - My question is, Has anyone used POR-15 and what do you think of it??. Also, I heard that POR-15 is UV sensitive, so what should I use as primer on my door? Thanks in advanced!

Por15 is the best stuff around. Do a search for POR15 on the body and interior or appearance forums and you will get all the feedback you need. It is UV sensitive as far as color. The color may change slightly if exposed to UV. However, its protection qualities do not change. It is very, very important to read all the material and INSTRUCTIONS that come with your POR15, because it is easy to ruin it and very difficult to get off your skin.

But it does what it claims with rust? it like, i dunno, stops it?
Also, who sells it? Can I only get it from them, or does someone like summit sell it??:confused:

I've used Por-15 with great effect, to include their other products (the putty and mesh--sorry, I've forgotten their proper names).

POR-15 is some supper slick stuff. I used it to touch up the frame on my old bike, and when it came time to touch up the frame on the new (to me) one POR-15 was the only thing I would think of using. This stuff is great!!! And no I don’t work for them, their product is just that d@m good.

OK. Cool. What if I want to use in over an area that has both paint, and mild rust? Would I need to strip paint? or would the degreaser/etcher/por-15 work fine over? (Paint is it good shape, just some rust starting to form...)

i used some por-15 to coat 2 sway bars and a wonderbar.. no prep work just painted them.. i would say to use two coats for a smooth finish but i am really happy with the product.
