Re: T-RAM OWNERS My T-RAM is as quiet as the factory tpi intake. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS I think i'll be making a trip out to a shop with a smoke machine then. I have a GM 48mm TB that was bored and fitted with 52mm blades. |

Re: T-RAM OWNERS I think SLP may have done my TB. It came with my T-Ram. It's wierd. It makes this sound, sounds like a vac leak, but when I put my hand on the intake, (lightly) the sound goes away. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Sorry to threadjack - but since you're the experts, what do you think a rather complete t-ram intake would sell for nowadays? There's one available locally that needs a serious cleaning I'm thinking of picking up to cleanup and resale and I'm trying to see if it's worth my time. Thanks, Jason |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS PM sent |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS I want one :( |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS There is one forsale in the classifieds. Its a bit ruff and is missing a few things. I think its a bit high for what it is but thats just my opinion. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Just curious, what are one of these SLP T-Ram Intakes, complete in perfect condition worth these days? I acquired a complete setup for my car and I am just curious. |

Re: T-RAM OWNERS The intake is complete with brackets, bolts, gaskets, fuel lines, fuel pressure regulator, everything. It's never been sandblasted or modified in any way. To my knowledge it has been used for a show car and had about 500 miles of actual usage. Other than that, it has been on a shelf as a show piece in a shop for the last 20 years. Re: T-RAM OWNERS That "looks" like it may have been sand blasted. Its kinda hard to tell unless I see some close ups of the machined surfaces under the bolts and a lil closer shot of the distributor hole and lower intake bolt holes.. Not a deal breaker unless your looking for the OEM finish. Over all it looks nice.. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS I will take some better pics tomorrow after work and post them. Thanks. Just curious to see if what I paid for it makes it worth installing it on my GTA or if I should just not hassle with it and keep it for its rarity. Only thing missing is the bracket for the kickdown cable and cruise control, but Stephen at Hawks is fabricating one for me so I will have the entire set up. Thanks again. |

Re: T-RAM OWNERS That is exactly what I am looking for but with the linkage hardware also. That is just the outer cage. |

I've heard from somewhere before that the SLP T-RAM makes a lot of intake noise. Everytime I open my hood and my engine is running, it sounds like I have a massive vacuum leak, but for the life of me I can't find any. Does anybody else have this "problem" or should I say characteristic with their T-RAM? |

Re: T-RAM OWNERS If you get one completed, put me down for it. I need it to install my T-Ram in the GTA. |

I should have a price total when the cams get completed but you will have to provide your own Throttle cable to cut up. (it goes from the Tbody to the cam) You really only need the bracket if you have a auto or want cruise control. It was a part made to help sell the Tram to a bigger group after the poor Firehawk sales.... |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Those brackets went for more than 200.00 new, would guess that 4-500 for reproduction would be fair. For anyone who hasnt seen the cam, you cant make that in your garage. It's eliptical and the channel the cables run in is tapered. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS I installed one on my GTA and along with cam, heads and a T56, made the car an absolute blast to drive. On my car, I would say that it has the torque of a TPI with the power of an HSR up top. I spin mine up to 6000 rpms and it still feels like she has more left in it. Definitely an awesome intake matted with the right combination of heads and cam. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS 2 Attachment(s) Havent touched my car since last summer. Been side tracked with this - Attachment 367171 Attachment 367172 |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Ohh.. you know the 2 best days of boat ownership? The day you buy it and the day you sell it.. :lmao: Looks like fun !:goodjob: |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Lol, I have told that to several of my buddies that have bought them. I think I got a really good deal on it, drove a couple thousand miles to pick it up and bring home in 3 days. Worse case I sell it for more than I paid. That is, as long as nothing breaks:) |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Its a boat. They are built to break. B reak O out A nother T housand I still love them though and as long as they make you happy, welcome to the club of insanity and foolish spending because it puts a smile on your face. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS The main thing is to not be upside down in one, same can be said for any RV as well. Cars on the other hand, well, you know, they WILL be worth something later:lmao: |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Any luck on those brackets for the auto trans/cruise control? |

Re: T-RAM OWNERS I went thru this thread and reread some things and saw some ?s that havent been answered. Ryan Falconer said SLP came to him and ask him to Design the T-Ram Intake to SLPs specs. He didn't produce it for them, someone else did and he didn't know who it was when I talked with him on the phone. I also got a number for T-Rams made from Dave Hamburger in a Email, this is all he said, "There were over 500 T-Rams made." |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS So, how is Dave Hamburger associated with the T-Ram? |

Re: T-RAM OWNERS I almost bought one of those off this site a week or so ago. The $470 seemed steep to me so I balked. I'll get one some day :) I DO need (want) a set of gaskets for my T Ram. Any ideas where/how to make this happen? |

Re: T-RAM OWNERS steal? I dont know I thought I remembered seeing one go for like $350 a few years back. I guess I'll keep saving for the next one. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS I got my SLP Dual Cold Air kit from somebody in CT for $40 about two years ago. Guy put up an ad on Craigs List and I answered within 2 minutes. 20 other people answered in the first five. Guy said first come first serve, so I hopped in my car on my lunch hour and drove from NYC to Stamford to pick it up... hahaha I don't think the guy knew what he had, or he simply didn't care. He just wanted it gone. Its in decent shape. One of the boxes had a small crack, nothing a little epoxy didn't fix. Going to put it in this winter. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Dang and now one for 40$! thats a GREAT score! |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS To the guys running the Dual cold air kit, does the stock upper radiator hose work? Or is there a different one that I would need to get? I'm going to be relocating the battery to the rear of my car in a few weeks. Then I'm going to put this stuff in and consider my car DONE. I can finally spend money on more important things like Graduate school... :lmao: |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS SLP used the stock hose on the firehawks but it has a home made belt guard and it runs under the belt by the alt. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS saw this old post with a part number for the upper radiator hose in the pic in post #2(71394) https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...dual-cold.html |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS I'm fairly sure that hose is for cars without a serp belt setup and maybe cars without the T-ram. here is a firehawk http://i894.photobucket.com/albums/a...field424-1.jpg |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Good to know. I'm guessing we'll need cut that hose support on the plastic upper radiator support to clear the duct right? I don't have the belt guard so is what's keeping my hose from contracting the belt... Haha. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Yes, the upper fan shroud will need a "lil" trimming!! |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Three here. One is NOS with cruise/auto bracket, water neck, lines, belt guard, SLP paperwork. Another had some mild port work done to it by previous owner. The third I bought from Herb Adams' son. It came off of a World Challenge Firehawk car. The plenum top just after the TB is modified (raised/tapered) and it is one of original the prototype intakes, which was allocated out through some channels for that specific car/race series. I've passed on two others that were hacked. Got outbid at last second on another. Missed a couple of sales by an hour or so. Yes, I am obsessive compulsive. I enjoy the history and legacy of rare things associated with the cars that I love. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Nice to see people collecting the rare stuff. Got any pics of the modified intake? Would be cool to see how the design morphed. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS This is on #11 http://i894.photobucket.com/albums/a...psaf00b053.jpg |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Any luck on the cable brackets for automatic transmission and cruise control? Still trying to source one for my T-Ram setup so I can do the install on my GTA. |
Re: T-RAM OWNERS Nothing yet! They are working on the aluminum cam parts last I heard. They do it in their spare time sooo I'm not being to pushy about it.. yet |
