Would you do this to your car?

Would anyone do this to their car? Makes it look like a 68-82 Corvette body If you ask me.

bubbakutz 12-27-2002 11:06 PM

yeah maybe if i wanted a batmobile........haha, no i would never do that!:nono:

Abubaca 12-27-2002 11:07 PM

I'm not really a fan of it in that form, but I'd like to see it with those fenders and quarters minus the fin and the hood. Slam the suspension to "da weeds" and put some 18" rims on it. Pro touring!!!

....maybe not.:p

Abubaca 12-27-2002 11:09 PM

maybe a late "Z" hood with the blisters......and some TT2's;)

bradkeith 12-27-2002 11:18 PM

I'd like to see a 91-92 style camaro with those stlye rear quarters only and some tt-2's! YEAH!!

bradkeith 12-27-2002 11:24 PM

ok, this is off thread, but i just noticed that i'm on probation here now??? what causes that? I haven't posted anything vulgar or flamed anybody, maybe it's 'cause i'm posting more than usual??

sorry bout this off-topic

devianb 12-27-2002 11:42 PM

I would do it if I had an 82-84 Camaro and had a seriously modded 350, 383 or some big block and I had a beefed up suspension and wanted 333s to fit in the rear without modifications, otherwise I would not do it.

If I was still a teenager, which was only last year I probably would have thought about doing it.

You just decribed my friends car exactly. It has that exact body, painted 2 colors, don't recall the rims but they're wide and 6 spoked, (they look alot like the 1's on that car, especially the tires) everything mechanical is performance modded, about 350HP. Its crazy, but cool in its own way and pretty fast, definetly not something you see everyday. I like the stock look best though.

Rage13 12-28-2002 12:21 AM

looks alright IMO, but there is so much more you could do with that $1000 they want for the kit...

tomster03 12-28-2002 12:25 AM

there is a yellow camaro that runs around my town that has that body kit it really looks sharp in it. i actully price it along time ago cant remeber how much the that kit costed tho

sheltonw3 12-28-2002 12:41 AM

NOW THAT's P.H.A.T.!

Pretty Hot And Tempting!...totally sweet!

cfirebird86 12-30-2002 02:10 PM

.

I wouldn't do that whole thing. But i like the look of the covers on the lights.

Think back to the Drifting post...

Andy Fanshawe 12-30-2002 02:52 PM

Like it....but....

remove that rear hatch black louvred thing and that is a good looking car!! IMO!

Have you all seen how straight that thing is? That is damn good bodywork! Where are the joins? Not a dent or a ripple in sight. You have got to admire the skills in doing that, to that level of perfection.

The true test is..would you be seen driving it?
I would.

Andy.

i agree, its not bad at all. just different

1986z28 12-30-2002 06:11 PM

Stripes look bad, hood looks bad, louvers have to go and other than that i like it. It would be awesome if the flares faded into the doors for a more smooth look but that would double the cost

devianb 12-30-2002 08:18 PM

What I really like about the kit is that it flows with the body lines of the car. The window louvers have got to go though. I like the multitone grey paint and headlight covers. The wing looks good on the Camaro too.

$1000 for the kit is a good deal considering how much wide body kits for other cars cost.

MetalliCamaroRS 12-30-2002 08:50 PM

Its not too bad, but I still wouldn't do it.

ThirdGenZ28 92 12-30-2002 08:58 PM

91-92 wing, and hood or maybe a cowl, lowered and 17" Snypers with that body kit and yeah Id drive one no problem. Only thing I hear about those kits and the finerglass work is that they stress crack and look horrible after awhile, unless it was a metal bolt on/weld on body kit I doubt Id want to mess with it. Its different atleast??

StngKlr 12-30-2002 09:51 PM

Nope, I dont like it a bit. Looks too square to me.

Cruzin Kaz 12-30-2002 09:55 PM

I kinda like it. I must say alot of time and money is in that car by the looks of it. If it has the power underneath it's shark like appearance then sure I would do that if I wanted to be really different. That is what it is different, but...I still like it... Why not?? It looks very aggresive!

LastViceRS 12-30-2002 11:28 PM

Nah, I don't think so. Looks a little too '70s, for those of us that remember. I've seen lots worse though. And as for the Corvette thing, I like my Camaro to look like a Camaro...guess I'm not very imaginative.:)

I like the body kit, I just don't like anything else on that car. ;) I'd get rid of the louvres too... unless it was a different color car maybe, like bright banana yellow. I'd also put taillight blackouts and maybe remove the headlight blackouts depending on how it looked.

redraif 12-31-2002 10:13 AM

It is a bit dated, but good for a beastly muscle car look. I think it could be updated a bit. Maybe throw in a bit of the new concept car touches. Front fenders would have to be a touch taller and flow down into the hood. And the spoiler I actually like it. I wondered where that spoiler came from. I had seen it on another Camaro. Is the body kit from Motion? and $1000 for the whole body kit is not bad.

Actualy you can see in the front where there is a seam and on the bottom of the rear bumper as well, but its pretty good work not as good as I would want though. I like the kit but if it faded better to the doors that would look much better ( of course I don't have a camaro, or even my bird yet for that matter:( )

tomster03 12-31-2002 11:50 AM

im in love with the color of that car the wing looks like it fits that car perfict too i wonder where he got the wing from?

Andy.

CrazyHawaiian 12-31-2002 02:06 PM

I would do it minus the hood and the louvers on the hatch. Wide body kits are cool. Like you guys said some nice wide 18's or even 17's to fill the wheelwells. But instead of having the wheels kinda stick out with alot of fender gap, have them tuck with a nice drop. Imagine it with a show winning paintjob. SS hood and maybe even a notchback? Wouldnt look bad at all.

fast86z28 01-01-2003 05:49 PM

theres a kid i see around a lot that has just the fenders and rear quarters on it, its an 82 cfi 305, not very fast ive raced him several times and it was no competition but it looks pretty good, if he just got some more power to go with the looks it would be pretty cool..

BillZ28 01-01-2003 05:51 PM

I really like the kit. Except I'd go with a different hood and wouldn't use the louvers. And I would definitely use a sharp or bright color, I don't think a dull color like that would be too great.

BillZ28 01-01-2003 05:53 PM

Yeah you would definitely also need some power to back that kit up and 18" wheels.
