Tires, tread block help

OK, hopefully this won't get locked... I'm getting two back tires for my Crown Vic. Reason I'm asking here is beacuse some of you run BFG radial T/A's on your thirden... there's the relation to the thirdgens. I have 245 60 15's now, I'm probably going to 255's, I'm wondering if the guys running 255's can tell me how many tread blocks run across the tire, width wise. It should be 5 or 7 maybe.

Thanks, Matt

Thanks for the help, dick.
Sorry, I don't have hours to look for pics of tires, as many of us I lead a busy life, school 50 hrs a week and work at least 30. Now not that that is your problem, since I choose to do what I do. I would appreciate it however that you would either reply to my post with some USEFUL info, or click your back button when you see that you clearly cannot provide me with the info I'm looking for. Now for your info I did some searching, could not find what I needed, looked on BFG's site, tirerack and others. No luck. So if anyone does know how many tread blocks are on their radial T/A's i'd appreciate the info.

Oh, and you guys running them on your Camaros, how do you like them as far as traction and treadwear. I know their are many more performance tires available, but the Radial T/A's seem to be a good priced tire that have a nice stance.

Thanks, Matt

Although my 3rd gen and one of my 4th gen F-body cars have 16 inch wheels, I do have the 255 60 15's BFG Radial TA's on my 74 Vette. I like the tires on that car. Gives it a very nice looking stance. You are correct about better performance tires out there, but for the price of the TA's its a good way to go.

you tend to get alot of posts in when you rebuild a car from the ground up between asking question and posting how to stuff the counts do get quite high. didn;t even notice how high they were.

Watch out for this guy, he's got the real stingers... and no, sleep isn't the problem, it's just idiots such as yourself. As far as it not being thirdgen related, what people have put these tires to a greater test than musclecar owners? I too own a thirdgen and have been VERY happy with the responses I get from people on this site. It's always been very reliable and accurate site for anything I've ever needed, I trust them. If the moderators feel that it doesn't relate to thirdgens, they can lock it, and I wouldn't have a problem with that! Let's leave that up to them to decide. As far as posts, I've been a long time member, under 300 posts, and your trying to tell me to use the "Search" tool.

And again, thanks to the ones that did help me find what I needed, I do appreciate it!

Later, Matt

For further posts about other cars, just don't tell us what its for.

Example: "I want to get some new 255/50-15 BFG T/A's how many tread blocks run across the tire, width wise"

MetalliCamaroRS 11-02-2004 03:01 PM

Non-thirdgen related, so it gets locked. Are the rules really that difficult? PM me with comments or questions. Thanks.
