ok ok, NOW it's a sleeper!!!

check it out guys! my buddy sean (ssean92) is letting me borrow the 91-92 z28 wheels from his car since he's cruisin' the drag radials for now. i think it looks pretty good. went ahead and added something extra when the car was resprayed last weekend too...think you can catch it?

91rsowner4life 08-28-2006 03:15 PM

:imo: thoes look 100% better!!! thoes other wheels just where not working with your car.

fivesevennine 08-28-2006 03:16 PM

Looks awsome, I'm guessing it's the spoiler? since I dont see it on your sig. But yeah seeing your car might just keep me from adding ground effects on my car, would be much cheaper...

which other wheels? the rodlites? i think it looks absolutely sick with the rodlites, but it REALLY takes away from the sleeper look...and that's what this car is (kinda...) but the rodlites are my track wheels, and they will be on the car on a regular basis.

ding ding ding ding!

1320_Guy 08-28-2006 03:18 PM

Looks good. Did you figure out what was wrong with the motor?

a mack6 08-28-2006 03:19 PM

looks great! really like the spoiler

ssean92 08-28-2006 03:22 PM

man matt you were right the tires make a big diff, i actually like those as well as i liked the iroc's looks sweet bro, what do u think of the harder sidewall, will make a diff in handling.

mw66nova 08-28-2006 03:28 PM

i can feel ALL the body roll from my drag racing suspension now! lol!

motor: crack SOMEwhere in #4 combustion chamber...cylinder head for sure...had water going into that hole. used some barsleak block sealer and the stuff actually worked! my racing season is over cause i don't want to risk hurting her, but you know...you take it as it comes...also, i managed to swipe #8 exhaust lobe...grrr...no biggie, i slapped a new cam in her yesterday and broke it in today. went from an AWESOME crane powermax solid lifter 238*/248* .480"/.500" 114lsa camshaft to a comp magnum 280hydrualic, which is 230*/230* .480"/.480" 110lsa...still pulls hard and is actually more streetable, but i miss that HARD top end pull...oh well...

1320_Guy 08-28-2006 03:43 PM

Dident you cut the springs? How much did you cut and how much did it drop?

91rsowner4life 08-28-2006 03:49 PM

yes the ones in your sig are the ones that i am talking about there just a little to "old shool hotrod" for a third gen:imo: love the stock wheels

mw66nova 08-28-2006 03:49 PM

factory v6 springs with 1 coil cut off all the way around. dropped it like 1.5" or so.

i second that, actually would like to see what the rodlites look like on my car with the g/f's

mw66nova 08-28-2006 04:05 PM

we could make that happen!

JimmyDavidson 08-28-2006 05:17 PM

Car looks great man... the spoiler was the only thing I thought you were missing before. The wheels look good too.

dubcity 08-28-2006 05:35 PM

I wonder what it would look like with 85-87 iroc rims, not sure if it would be better or worse lol but gotta say again your car looks Sick!

mw66nova 08-28-2006 05:38 PM

i'd imagine it'd look something like this:

nelapse 08-28-2006 05:58 PM

At least your car still runs... Looks good matt. You have always done nice work.

Demon355 08-28-2006 05:59 PM

That thing would look good with any rim...

I love that thing Matt :burnout:

Sucks about the engine though, you always seem to play too rough with your toys, lol

ChrisH821 08-28-2006 06:01 PM

I love the 91-92s

mw66nova 08-28-2006 06:01 PM

Your tags, expire soon btw, just figured I'd nag you. Get up on it

mw66nova 08-28-2006 06:13 PM

honestly, that's all on my pops...since it's techincally "his car"...

purpleZ-28 08-28-2006 06:25 PM

woah you added the spoiler! looks real good IMO! im diggin the new wheels too!

BADNBLK 08-28-2006 07:09 PM

Looks really good man!! I mounted my 91 Z wheels on my 85 sc and it looked awsome. I suddenly started getting coments on how nice my car was (when it wasn't). The fact that your car is different is what really makes it cool, and it will still be cool no matter who's wheels you are running.

Keep up the good work!

maroon88iroc 08-28-2006 08:01 PM

the car looks good as usual matt but im going to have to disagree with everyone else. while the 91-92 Z wheels look good the irocs looked like 5x better in my opinion. and again while the spoiler looks ok i really liked it alot better w/ o it like i said your car was the only camaro i liked without a spoiler.

but i definitely like the rodlights though, i mean ya they are kinda old shcool but they look very nice with your car.

ES87iroc 08-28-2006 08:30 PM

Best setup yet, hands down.

blyth18md 08-28-2006 08:43 PM

Looks much than with the other stock 5 spokes. I think it looks even better than the rodlites, I perfer the look or prostars or even draglites (on a white car) for a strip wheel.

Still think it would look better with black door handles ;)

:yup: What made you decide to go with a spoiler. You were so set on the plain look! I can just see it, the next thread you're gonna have GFX!!

mw66nova 08-28-2006 09:29 PM

i just never was happy with the car from a few different angles with the no spoiler look...so...it went back on. sorry, no gfx for this particular car though.

i do, however, have a set just like these that i'll be doing up for the car. just gotta get some cash up for tires.

Tobias05 08-28-2006 10:21 PM

still missing something!

rwdtech 08-28-2006 10:26 PM

Tobias05 08-28-2006 10:30 PM

rwdtech 08-29-2006 12:27 AM

HAHA yeah IM SO COOL!!!

jbenge 08-29-2006 05:16 AM

It looks good both ways but I like it better with a spoiler. Good Job!

Steven89Iroc 08-29-2006 06:58 PM

I think it looks much better!

Spoiler +1

mw66nova 08-30-2006 07:31 PM

i'm really glad ya'll enjoy it. everytime i see the car i fall in love with the look all over again.

Jgolden314 08-30-2006 09:31 PM

Looks SO much better!

brodyscamaro 08-30-2006 10:27 PM

looks better like this IMO...

Red1992V6Rs 08-30-2006 11:56 PM

Wow, this is only the 2130972142134830th time you changed wheels! j/k. It looks great! Then again, all the wheels you put on your car look great. Each time it gives itself a slightly new look. Keep it up man, I LIKE IT!

92RS(real slow) 08-31-2006 12:03 AM

You could probaly do anything to that car, and I would still love it props on one nice thrid gen:nod:

I can't keep my center caps in my 91 -92 camaro z28 wheels. These are on my 1988 Convertible Camaro. I had to buy two because hitting bumps make them fall out !!!!! Please help - what can i do to make them stay in but also have them where I can take em off to change a tire if need be. Thanks / Gary

Re: ok ok, NOW it's a sleeper!!!

HOly old thread..

Try some 3M double sided tape for molding. Put it on the outside of the flexible nibs so they stick to the wheels.

Re: ok ok, NOW it's a sleeper!!!

Car looks killer. The spoiler and wheels give the car a totally different look than before.
