a few questions about spray paint.
 

if applied to wheels how hard/easy is it to remove?

if removed, will it damage the, "paint"? on the factory wheels.

which brands/types would come off easier than others? (if any)

Don't spray paint your wheels If you want to take it off. Get a used set and either get them sprayed professionally or powder coated. Just my honest opinion. Rattled canned wheels can look good if done right for the first 6mths-1yr but after that, the seasons as well as washing/road grime/Rocks and sand the always start to look crappy. Also you can no longer use degreaser or wheel cleaner on rattle canned wheels as it severely diminishes the life of the paint.

It will most likely damage factory paint You have to sand and prep the surface before painting so the paint adheres. Most factory aluminum wheels are just cleared so damaging the factory clear is not a huge issue. You can always re-coat it.

Its very difficult to take all the paint off when done right. If the wheel inst painted the right way it will look bad and cheep

i see so it would be something i would routinely have to repaint every so often.

the 2 reasons why i wont get them powdercoated is because the only place nearby (that i know of) the wheel's dimensions are too big to fit in the oven. and the other reason is price.

i'll then think more about what i want to do

Yes. Also if repainted the old coat of paint would have to be completely removed before spraying again. New spray on top of old spray promotes flaking due to the strength of the original coat.

Its allot of work to keep sprayed wheels in good condition. You could spend less money if you prep the wheels your self and get them sprayed by a shop with a good auto grade lacquer. This usually works well and lasts a lot longer than rattle can. Nothing beats a good powder coat but that should work well.
