**JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* *************JUNE 2014 COTM NOMINATIONS************* This thread is a Nomination thread to narrow down the top 10 (or less) Third Gens on TGO that meet this month's criteria. This is not a picture thread. POST ONE GOOD PHOTO of THE ONE CAR that you wish to nominate. Others can second or third, and so on, your nomination. You cannot nominate your own car. A car must at least receive a "second" nomination to be included in the voting process. The 10 or less most popularly nominated cars will be compiled into a *voting thread* in a couple weeks. I think most of us already know how this works. *****This Month's Criteria***** Show & Go. Super slick builds that have the speed & handling and fit & finish to be at home on the track or at a car show, plus the ability to drive to the track or car show style and comfort. Thesaurus says: FINISHED Pro Touring-type builds. |

Re: **JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* I believe that is whitedevilTA, simple mistake if it is. I'd like to second the nomination, *Project PITA** 86 TA frame up restoration was a great thread. |

Re: **JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* WhitedevilTA is a good example of what we're looking for this month. He won COTM in November 2012. as far as i'm concerned, since it has been more than a year, he can be nominated again. i'll find out if there is a pre-existing covenant against that, but i'm pretty sure its all good. |
Re: **JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* I forgot where I saw it, but there is a car on this board (maybe in the Power Adder forum, primarily) but its a white Camaro, it is (I think) turbo-charged. and the piping is white and basically built into the body of the car. it looks super slick, even somewhat artistic. if anybody knows what car i'm talking about, I would like to take a look at that car for a possible nomination. |

Re: **JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* ^thanks. but after looking it over, that's not the same car...or at least its not the same set up, but i dont think that's the same car. UR50SLO has a nice car, but it seems like more of an all out 1/4 mile track car, probably missing the "comfort" part of the equation for this month's criteria. |
Re: **JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* He changed his car, he no longer has the turbo Buick V6. He now has I believe a 427 LSX. |
Re: **JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* Yea he had the Buick motor with white piping everywhere. Now its a single turbo LSX Jay |
Re: **JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* 1 Attachment(s) I would like to nominate my Husband's car if I could. I have been waiting for a category that his car would fit in and I think it might be what you are looking for this month. It took him a little shy of two years to restore it to what it looks like today. Take a look: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/hist...ebird-s-e.html Attachment 336085 |

That 350 be it stock or modded might just be fun on a autocross track and dominate his class. (driver make a huge part of on TRACK performance) Not just the Engine. Its the TOTAL package. Maybe he doesn't want a 9,10,11 or 12 second car. And Is happy with a BOLT On 350/700r4 combo. |

On a diff. Note Linson, Whos to say a 350/700r4 isnt home on the track? what TRACK Criteria are you talking about? There is no guide line set saying it must be a SHOW and 9 second GO car. Linson My old 305 I built in a TA hd more go then some 350 cars? People need a base line to know where to start. |

So what is considered GO criteria for people to base their nominations on? My old 305 I built in a TA hd more go then some 350 cars? People need a base line to know where to start. in the case of Topspeed's Trans Am, it was not apparent what, if any performance modifications had been done, even after researching his public profile and build thread. if there is a concern about whether or not a car meets the "Show and Go" criteria, people can feel free to ask, or as in this case i solicited the required information from the Member. |
Re: **JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* speaking of which, with its heads, cam, other engine mods, plus upgraded brakes & suspension mods, Topspeed's Trans Am meets the Show & Go criteria. |
Re: **JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* and FWIW, i keep track of ideas (both mentally and on paper) of ideas for themes for future COTMs. whenever someone slips through the cracks because say, for example, their car meets the show, but no the go criteria, i make a mental note that maybe in the future we can have a "show car" themed month, where there wont be a performance standard. also, like i said in the April COTM Nomination Thread, i am open to being PM'ed COTM theme ideas, and ideas can be posted publicly in the Nomination threads as well. |
Re: **JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* Great criteria this month! Keep up the good work Dave! |

Re: **JUNE 2014** COTM *NOMINATIONS* I dont want to extend this discussion longer than it needs to be but I would just like to say that Dave is the ONE who took it upon himself to run the show every month and whatever he says should go... NO everyone should not have a say in it that would only lead to a big cluster **** of ideas and angry people who didnt get their way..... With that being said come one people lets get some more nominations in this is not Firebird month this is SHOWnGO month. Where are the damn Camaro's at!!! |
