Any recommendations for a car cover? I'm primarily looking for something durable, cheap and fits well enough to make sure it covers the rear plate area, I don't care if it might mess up the paint on a nice car, but something that rust won't soak through would be a big plus.

I have a parts car, tagged and insured sitting on my property but recently the county "revenue authority" (really, that's the name of the department) has gotten on my case about it and my truck- front tag got ripped off the truck, part of the bracket was still there, they wrote me a parking ticket for not displaying a front tag. I finally get a new tag bracket in, I pull it into the driveway to put it on, go out and get some hardware and I have a ticket because my 22' long cummins dodge is partially blocking the sidewalk and I start getting tickets for the parts car even though it's legal. I call them and essentially got "the only way we'll leave it alone for sure is if it's under a car cover." BS, but less of a hassle than taking it to court/fighting it constantly.

Anyway, I just want to get it covered up with something that looks OK and is cheap. In a perfect world something that rust stains won't soak through (the paint is peeling in places and there is surface rust on the hood and roof), but worst case I can through a tarp over it first and then the cover. The most important things are that it looks OK, cheap and I don't want to be replacing it in a year because it fell apart.

I bought one off eBay a few years ago that was very nice for the money. It was $60-$80ish.

Ive also bought the rainx covers before too and they fit like ****.

any idea what brand the ebay one was?

Huh, I have a "Classic Accessories" cover on my '71 Mach 1 that I was disappointed about how durable it's been (it's starting to wear through in a few places), but I just looked at my Amazon account and realize I've had it since August of 2012, I suppose 6 years isn't that bad... :/

They have many different level covers and price points

Im pretty sure it’s not even branded but it’s made well. I still have it. I’ll look this evening and see if I can find a brand in it.

I looked at my cover and there’s no tag or brand anywhere. I’m pretty sure it’s the 50-60 dollar one that pops up on eBay. Just go on there and search “8x camaro car cover”.
