The molding is actually riveted to the panels. It's got metal 'slides' that hold on the plastic and rubber.

IMO, the molding on the side of 3rd gens looks like crap. I wouldn't get it if I were you.

The beltline molding on my 88 and both 89's is applied with double sided tape, from the factory.

I'm talking about the door protective molding halfway up the doors, and Camaro IROC & RS's.

You can get "generic" stuff from an Auto Paint store.

Sorry dude, I guess I gave you a bum scoop. I just stripped an '86 Trans Am and that stuff was riveted on. I guess I just figured everything else would be the same.

I've seen the double-sided tape type of molding you're looking for, but I don't remember where it was. You should probably go to a GM dealer and pay the extra cash to get it from them so you know the stuff will fit. That way it won't be an Autozone 'hack job'.

I just found a website that has the stuff, maybe you're interested? It is a little expensive like I though it would be from GM! Here's the site: http://www.auto-parts-for-less.com/
