restoring broken ground effects...?

the ground effects I have are in good shape except for one corner that has been broken off. If I had the piece that was there, I would just glue it back together and have it plastic welded and repainted. With nothing to reconstruct it with, what is the best way to go? would it be inexpensive to have a body shop do this (espacially with it removed from the car already) or would it be just as easy to do in my back yard with the right materials? I'm guessing I would need a good source of heat and some similar urathane material, maybee even a mold to get it perfect. has anyone done this before? thanks for the help.
