red paint question 1 Attachment(s) i am painting my car red and i want a real nice bright red for it and i was wondering if anyone has some paint codes for these reds.. something like this, if not this post a picture and the code and if this is your car sorry but i really like the color it stands out |
the best way for you is to go to a NAPA or something, and tell the guy what works in the paint dept you want to see his catalogue. I don't know there, but here they work with Dupont so he'll give you a nice catalogue with alot of colors, with the year and brand of the car... you then choose the one you want.. there you go |
OMG, that looks just like my car. Take a look at my sig, check out the Camaro in it. Paint code is PPG 97 Viper Red. |
thats mine yeah thats my car.. I don't rem the code for it but I can find out next week for you.. I know it is a gm code.. It's supposed to be the same color they used on them at the factory.. ask them about that.. The color gm used for 88 transam.. If you e-mail me at DreamState20x@hotmail.com to remind me I will check next week...later |

How can i get the paint code for the Brilliant Red!! I need to paint my car that color!! |
Reds don't really do it for me, they just don't get deep... GM WA 9075 early 90's Lumina Euro...pretty bright Current GM truck WA 9260 8774 is ok but if you're looking for that wow, IMHO that ain't it. Porche mars red is great for show. |
reds dont go deep eh? Look at Kandieds ol' 91z, deepest red Ive ever seen |
reds dont go deep eh? Look at Kandieds ol' 91z, deepest red Ive ever seen Kandied's car is awesome...BUT, it is a pearl paint or tri-coat, you're talkin' a different scenario. I was referencing a true red, no metallic, no pearl, no candy, no frills, no nothin', just RED. While a perfect red paintjob can be amazing, and, while it can be perfected (buffed and polished) to have the best gloss and shine, it really doesn't go anywhere. |
my car was painted "Viper Red" by my grandpa and I last summer. It's bright:eek: Brandon |
The brightest red I've personally seen iss PPG Flame Red I used PPG torch red since we already have 2 cars in the family that are flame red, but the torch red is border line bright red/almost getting into the orange hue. Ford Vermillion red that's on my 95 F-150 is probably the best looking actual red I've seen next to the Flame red. It's very bright red that is also deep as well. If I were to ever paint another car red it would be the vermillion red for that fact. |
My 98 Trans Am is 81U (bright red), they have been using that color forever. Looks great! It was also called flame red/bright red/etc. |
