i know IHI is going to run a 10 point cage with his fourth gen dash. the bars will come out of the heater duct holes on either side.

I plan to do it as well, 10 pt with a '00 Z28 dash in my IROC-Z. But gonna be a while before it happens ...

I should probably ask him, but how does he plan on getting the dash in there with the rool cage already welded in? cutting the dash? im gonna PM him a link to this thread

With my firebird dash there are notches where the factory duct work went up the A pillars, so there will be no need to cut the dash anywhere. Worst case scenario would be having to have the down bars tweaked a little so they go through the 4th gen dash in the right spot AND meet up at the floor pan where the door bar is welded.

Just assume the cage is already welded in place, the dash will literally just slide right upto the firewall with no modifications assuming the bars are in the right location.

Edit: I was gonna install the halo and down bars, but new plans are to find a new car for track only and do the cut it, gut it, run it treatment.

Yup for mine I plan to cut it and fit it after the bars are welded in. But I wanna do something different than the 10 point cages I see most people go with. The ones I've seen have the front two bars come down before the dash. I want the two front bars to line up with the a-pillars and go all the way to the firewall, then bend down. Mainly because I'm tall and I need all the leg room I can get. So I'm probably going to be cutting the upper part of the dash so I can slide it in and secure it.

Yeah, I have noticed almost every 10 point cage in third gens have the front bars that do that and for the life of me I cant figure out why, other than ease of installation. It looks bad and I imagine it would make it 10x harder to get in and out. I have run 10 pt cages in many foxbody stangs and had never seen one like that and they were already hard enought to get in and out of, I couldnt imagine. Anyway, I was thinking that if I do get one it will be made by Wolfe Racecraft since they are right down the street and build the BEST cages I have ever seen as far as fit and finish. They offer them for the 4th gens but no third gens so if I do get it done I will be the guinee pig :D
