no the first picture was some peeling white paint over red. the pic made it look a lot better then it really was. |
where did you mount the cutoff switch? |

I think the flat black exterior looks great. :) But dude, replace your carpet. |
lol.. maybe there is some confusion on the pix.. the before pix of the car are the white exterior, seats/carpet, and the rusty dirty engine compartment. the current pix are the flat black paint, no interior (welding in seat brackets), and the low gloss black engine compartment. I need to finish the wiring on the car before I put black carpet in it, spray all the panels black, and put the black summit buckets in. |

If you can make it do 10's then who cares what it looks like. fast is fast. |
has to have carpet and functioning lights, etc. it will be driven on the street some, and only raced on the street so it has to be legal. I know the carpet dont make it legal, but it makes it a lot better.. i figure not even 10lbs for the carpet. |
the carpet is actually a lot heavier then that. |

On a side note, that car is coming along great :) I have to paint my car flat black soon. Right now its black with a red hood and doors, and white door hinges, after I was done with my parts cars hahah. Any tips? What kind of paint did you use? |

Front and back carpet is probably close to 50 pounds with the padding material. Aftermarket is probably 15-20. Just a rough estimate from all the times I've pulled my carpet. |
why do you need carpet to be street legal ? |
definately dont want to use stock carpet. im going to use that lightweight black carpet from home depot. ive used it on a previous car that i had and it was MAXIMUM 10lbs w/ however many cans of spray adhesive i used. end result looks good and since the car will have limited use it wont wear too bad. it doesnt need carpet to be legal, it just makes it look more like a street car, and way less like a peice of crap tin can like it is ;) |

Hey Man, Whats Up? I bought the hood from ya a while back. It is good to see your car coming along. My BBC project is getting there also. I hope to get the 2.8 stuff out this weekend and the BB stuff going in next weekend. By the Way... Flat black, matte black, primer... whatever you want to call it, looks very tuff. Much better than the elmers glue you had. But hey thats my opinion. When you get it going me and the family will have to make a trip to ATL and go make a day out of it. Later man, Scott |

i say full interior, it's got a cool factor to it... |

If you get new carpet you definitely need to get that aftermarket type. I got mine from auto interior and upholstry.com and let me tell ya....it weighs all together probably 15 lbs if that!!! The stock carpet with all that padding was around 70 lbs and that was from someone that weighed just a part of it! This new carpet is beautiful, light and was completely simple to install. I recommend everyone that's thinking about lightening a car to replace that stock heavyass carpet!! |
So, What kind of paint DID you use on that beast? It looks great ! |
rustoleum flat black spray paint, lol |
have you considered making a console out of some lighterweight material? these cars look incomplete without them. |
nah.. just gonna be 2 buckets, with a shifter & cover on the trans tunel. just plain and simple |
interested to see the finished product. actually, where is Buford in relation to Macon? |
