Re: Removing Hatch Glass From Metal Hatch The trunk panel is held on with black sealant similar to the stuff around windshields Use fishing line to get it loose The black surround trim is just pinched on there Move slowly and you can pop it off, but why bother A replacement hatch is the easiest |
Re: Removing Hatch Glass From Metal Hatch Pocket, thanks so much. Exactly the answer I was looking for. userchemical, I did search first. I didnt find anything. |

Re: Removing Hatch Glass From Metal Hatch I recently removed my hatch panel easlily by after removing all the bolts, dont forget the shocks as well, I took some wood wedges and placed them on top one on the edge the other in the center and last one on the oposite edge and used a rubber mallet and tapped all sides til I has able to pull it by hand and walla the declid is off |

#1 reason for removing it is to replace it with lexan for weight savings. other than that just swap the hatch |
Re: Removing Hatch Glass From Metal Hatch i just took mine apart a couple of days ago,i took a heat gun and put it on the high setting and moved it back and forth, be careful not to burn the paint off, so keep the heat moving, and slighty wiggle the metal, i will come loose pretty easy. it only took me about ten minutes to do. just remember that it is a pain in the *** to put back on, has to be done in the car so that the body lines still line up. good luck |
