shedding the fat

hey does anyone know if they make fiber glass doors for 3rd gens? I have a 92 camaro rs so far i found a a fiber glass hood and rear hatch, wich im not sure exactly how much the hood and rear hatch weigh that are from the factory but i imagine its a lot, and i know that the new hood and latch weight a combined weight of like a 100 and some odd pounds. but back to what i dont know and thats if i can get some fiberglass doors and one more thing not to go as far as stiping my car but what about after market lighter bumpers, fenders and interior parts any sudgestions welcomed im trying to get my car near 2000 pounds

i think its safe to say the car will never see 2000 lbs, and glass doors are a very bad idea if the car ever sees street use, in the even of a side impact, you will die. But, VFN sells then

i know i wont get it to 2000 but close like maybe 2500 would be nice, and as for the fiber doors im doing some frame work to compistate the doors being replaced

I'd say getting to 2800-2900 pounts would be as radical as you can get with a third gen. Remember, these are NOT full-framed cars. The more steel you remove the flimsier the body structure gets, and I cant imagine that flexing wouldn't become an issue if you go on an ultra-light diet.

That said, if you want under 2500#, IMO move on down to a fiero.....

You could get 'glass rear uarters, but thecar better be tube framed then & the body only a skin.
